I'm trying to use the True DataControl as an ActiveX object in a web page. At the moment i'm trialling the 30 day demo to see if this component will suit our needs.

When I add the object to my page and attempt to retrieve records from a table in my database, I'm getting the following popup errors when setting the .RecordSource property and calling the .Refresh method:

"Unavailable in this environment (not safe)"

I went into the registry and marked the control as safe for scripting but this did not change anything.

Is the true datacontrol designed to be used in this way? Is it a limitation of the trial version?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

TrueData can be used in a web page. There are no limitations for the trial version, so that would not be part of your problem. I see that you also contacted ComponentOne technical support, and they asked that you send a screenshot of the error and a sample. If you still need assistance, please send a screenshot and sample in to the support team so that they can continue to assist you.
