Hello,
We are developing applications in VB 6.0 to generate PDF's using the component VSPRINTER 8. We write to disk all documents, don't show these documents.

The problem is that to generate a certain amount of documents (depending on the memory of each pc) an OutOfMemory exception is generated.

We have tried to clean the memory using scripts and, earlier, improving the logic of the application, thinking that it was a efficiency problem of implementation.
Follow the same problem ...

Have you encountered problems of this style with this component?
Do you have a solution?

Regards,
Juan Ramirez.

We are using VB6 solution with VSFlexGrid and VSPrint objects (VSFlex7.ocx & VSPrint7.ocx). On W2k and XP it works fine. We now need, for other reasons, to install this solution on W98 SE. There we get the following error: "Run Time error 372: Failed to load control VSFlexGrid from VSFlex7.ocx. Your version of vsFlex7.ocx may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application". In fact it is! We have the same error message with VSPrint7.ocx.

We would be pleased if you could give us some idea how to solve the problem.

VSFlex7.ocx version: 7.0.0.62; Description VSFlexGrid 7.0 Pro (OLEDB/ADO); Copyright 1999, 2000 VideoSoft
VSFlex7.ocx version: 7.0.0.6; Description VSPrinter7); Copyright 2000 VideoSoft

Thanks!

VSPRINTER jrambenz [Spain] 19-Feb-2008 13:58:04

Hola,

I am using VSDRAW and want to use the VSDRAW.PICTURE to export VSDRAW to an image with the same size as the VSDRAW, but the size is wrong on the VSDRAW.PICTURE. The picture dimension is the same as my screen, regardless of the size of VSDRAW. The result is that the zoomed image from VSDRAW.PICTURE is in a very bad quality. Is there a workaround to the problem?

We are using an Application developed in MS Access & installed on our Server, which uses VSVIEW for printing reports. We have 35 Windows XP Pro Workstations and a WIndows 2000 Server.

The problem is, some of the Workstations display/print 1 particilar report with lines printing over top of each other. Most of the Workstations are fine.

1. All Workstations are XP Pro with Service Pack 2
2. All Workstations print to the same Network Printer & have the same Printer Driver.

Is there some WIndows XP component the problem machines are missing? How do I troubleshoot this problem?

I am using VSVIEW 8.0 under vb.2005 (AxVSDraw8Lib.AxVSDraw). Is there any way to use TextHeight and TextWidth in this configuration or are there similar functions.

Sorry. I did not explore the object. The answer is, get_TextHeight(String) and get_TextWidth(String).

We are using VSPRINT7.OCX with OLE controls in a prduct called OpenInsight. In a local environment we have no problems. But when running from a Citrix host for no apparent reason the product will return no printers assigned and no default windows printer. Log out and log back in and everything is fine. Windows printers are present and there seems to be no pattern. In fact at times this will occur within a few minutes of everything printing regularly.

Does anyone have any thoughts.... We have tried delays of 1 second and then retrying up to ten times but no joy.

I got a problem with saving under rtf.
It seems than even though the colors appears correctly in vsprinter component, when creating a rtf file, it doesn't keep the colors...
why is that ?
Do you know what I could do to correct this problem?

Sincerely

Fixed build 7.0.0.80 was sent by mail to you . However, note that the RTF output is not guaranteed to be 100% accurate as far as color mappings. RTF relies on a static color table at the beginning of the file. VSPrinter generates RTF in a single pass, so it creates a static table at the start of the file and looks for the best match whenever it has to select a color. The static table contains 68 colors (Word and VB palettes), which is good enough for typical documents. If you need exact color mappings, you should use the RTF control instead.

Ich erhalte beim Erstellen von Tabellen immer die Fehlermeldung: -2147417848 Automatisierungsfehler! aber nur nach dem Kompiler, in der Runtime von VB 6.0 wird alles ohne Fehler dargestellt. Beim Compiler in P-Code systemabsturz ohne Fehler. Habe Letztes Update von Videosoft geladen.

Unable to register vsprint8.ocx on a PC: Load Library failed, last error 0x00000485.

Vspdf8.ocx registered fine on that PC. Rebooting, no other softare running, regsvr32 called, etc. to no avail. Same setup already worked fine on many other PC's.
Target PC is Win95B OEM2.5, has VB5 (only), was development machine using VSVIEW3 but now a test PC, VSVIEW8 components not previously installed.

Any ideas??

I got problem with VSPrint7.ocx.
I am using VSPrint7.ocx in my VB6.0 application. I am facing a problem now. In my VB Form, there is a VS Flex Grid. And I am printing this grid data along with some Text boxes. The Print preview shows the grid and the text boxes properly. But on printing some cases it is printing the Text boxes in another location. I am specifying the location in twips. And the preview shows it properly. For priting I am callling the PrintDoc() function
Please suggest me if there is any solution for this.

RE: VSVIEW support [USA] 21-Jul-2004 00:00:00

You can choose 4 compression options for the PDF file in VSView (in Compress property): vspfdCompressAll, vspfdCompressText, vspfdCompressPics, and vspfdCompressNone. For example:

vspdf81.Compress = vspfdCompressAll

I need to send multipage letters to a Print to File. The problem is that everytime I send a letter to the printer a message box asking me for the filename. I need to configure this to ask me only once and to include all letters.

VSVIEW - Can't open recordset rmidda [United Kingdom] 20-Jul-2004 17:26:08

Hi,

I am linking a stored procedure to a VS VIEW report. The stored procedure can take up to 5 minutes to run. I developed the report by linking it to a dummy table with all the same fields. When I try to change the recordsource to the stored procedure, I get the following error:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't open recordset (check RecordSource string)

EXEC sp_Sel_LossByEventCode 'ATK', '%', 26666, '1992', '2200', '199301', '220012', 1.5

Reported by [VSReport7.VSReport.1]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I run the stored procedure against the SQL Server database in SQL Analyzer, it runs fine. It only fails on the designer. Can anyone help with this?

Regards,

..
