Our developers are aware of the issues that some customers have had using our components on Windows 95, and are working to resolve them. Typically, for older operating systems, there will be a few system files that need to be updated. Installing Internet Explorer updates these system files, so installing IE 5.5 or later normally updates these files so that our components will work on older operating systems such as Windows 95.

ComponentOne components are sold on a yearly subscription basis. For example, if you purchase the v3 2005 version of VSView you will be entitled to any product updates released through the v3 2006 release. You can continue to use any updates that you receive under your subscription after a year, but you will not be entitled to future updates unless you renew. Our ActiveX components have been in version 8 since late 2002, so this does mean that customers may renew a subscription for the same major version. Sometimes this means that you pay for the same version, but this also means that if a new version is released within your subscription you receive that version. If you have a studio subscription, our yearly subscription model means that you receive any new products that are released as a part of that studio, in addition to the updates.

Do not use this product. The tech support has been very slow to get back to me and they are not addressing a serious issue. This product does not work on win95 period. I have repeating asked them what I can do to make it to work or if they are going to fix it. They keep saying it has been elevated from one person to another person. There are several posts on their forum with the same problem from other programmers.

I have used this product since 3.0 and I had very good luck with it until this company bought them out and then it started to go downhill from then. Get this, they are now charging updates for the same version!
