What's new in V1.8x

This release adds support for the zip 64-bit extensions:

Zip files can now be larger than 4 Gigabytes

Files larger than 4 Gigabytes can now be added to a zip file

A new progress event has been added that allows the progress of file operations to be monitored for files larger than 4 Gigabytes

Also in this release - Greatly improved performance due to changes in file I/O operations

What's new in V1.5?

PowerTCP Zip Compression for ActiveX allows you to easily add high-speed, reliable, zip/unzip functionality to your applications regardless of whether you are manipulating files or memory. Includes the ability to create self-extracting files and three levels of AES encryption support for the ultimate in file security. Distribution of compressed files is easier than ever, with no need for an end-user to access a compatible program to decompress the file. One function call will create an EXE file instead of the usual zip file. Use it as a super-fast file/memory compressor/decompressor, a file encryptor/decryptor, or both.

For those simple jobs, the QuickZip and QuickUnzip methods enable file compression and decompression with only one line of code. PowerTCP Zip Compression for ActiveX also includes Dart's unique FileStore object, which gives you the ability to fine-tune memory/file support and allow for fine-grained manipulation. You will now be able to move data from a memory buffer to a compressed file or vice-versa and easily extract a single file from a compressed file. Display information about an individual file within a compressed file, add uncompressed files to the file store and search inside a compressed file.
