In version 3 some image files generated by FaxMan could only be read correctly by ImageMan. Is this still true for version 4 .Net or are the images fully compatible with the controls available in the .Net Framework 2.0?

We just bought FaxMan SDK v3.53 but on the web site of the company (Data-Tech) it says that the current version is 3.62 which is supposed to come with some C#/VB.Net samples. Actually, we don't have any .Net sample with our version. It is possible to update to the version 3.62 and have the .Net samples ?

thanks

This question is asked before in the forum but was not answered: Can I fax a HTML file as a fax through faxman?

Thus can I do something like;
dim myFaxMan as new faxman
myFaxMan.fileToFax = c:\myHTMLfax.html
myFaxMan.send

Or if not how can I send a html file as a fax throug faxman??

A confirmation on how to fax a HTML file is essential for us to purchache.

Yhank you.

When faxing from a fax machine, I get a "confirmation of receipt" printed out which contains a reduced format of the first page of the original document in addition to the fax stats. Does FaxMan provide provide electronic version of this?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,

I asked Data Techniques about this, and they told me no, they do not do an official confirmation of receipt.
They do expose numerous status updates and notify your app that the fax completed successfully...Upon such a notification, the user can gather all the details about the fax and write these or store these however they desire.

Your specs still state that Faxman is not .net compatible. I am seeing information on the web that V3.53 is .net ready. Can you confirm this?

Let me understand simply about FaxMan ..., meaning I will be running FaxServer Object in WindowsNT/2000 Server. I will be able to send/receive fax from any WindowsNT/2000 Workstation from the network. is it possible?

Hello ... anybody home?

Hello,

No. You will physically send the fax from one machine, we’ll call it a server, where your faxmodems are. Your ‘clients’ will just generate files to fax and stores these in a shared location on the network. Your faxing app will take these files and fax them.
FaxMan has no ‘network awareness’. It does not ‘see’ clients.

FaxMan Licenses bholt [USA] 11-Jan-2002 23:22:17

What is meant by FaxMan comes with 10,000 licenses "per year"? Does the product contain a time bomb?
Reply

RE: FaxMan Licenses support@componentsource.com 15-Jan-2002 16:53:30

Hi,

I checked with the author of Faxman, and they gave me the following information:

What that means is that you can incorporate FaxMan into your application and sell up to 10,000 of that application per year without needing additional licenses. This is renewed each year at the anniversary of the purchase date at no additional charge. No, there isn’t any sort of “time bomb”. Please feel free to let me know if you have any further questions or problems.

If you need anything else, please let me know.

Sincerely,

A new VFP v6 sample is available at http://www.data-tech.com/support/kb/dispart.asp?ArtID=208
This sample was also tested in VFP v7
As the Faxman SDK and FaxmanJr printer components are the same, this printing portion of this sample may also be helpful for Faxman SDK printing concerns.
