Flexess is composed of the following modules:

Flexess Security Modeler. The work of the developer begins here. This is an Eclipse-based tool that allows the creation and editing of the access management model of the application. With this tool protected objects, operations, role templates and permissions are defined. After editing the model you can deploy it to the Flexess Engine.

Flexess Engine. This is the core module that provides management for all access data. The main function of the Engine is to support the API over deployed models, such as selecting the roles for a particular user.

Flexess Administration. This application creates roles based on role templates and assigns the roles to users. It provides all services for role and user management. All the information is passed to Flexess Engine for storage. Flexess Administrator can be accessed through a thin client and all editing operations are done through an ordinary browser.

Flexess Client. This library is deployed as a part of the business application. It actually performs authorization and can also perform authentication. It loads the roles for a particular user from Flexess Engine and checks if the user is authorized to perform the operation. You can authenticate users with a separate module or with Flexess Client.

User Management System. This is a system for storing users. Although Flexess can be integrated with any user management system, by implementing the appropriate provider, we provide a simple user management application that stores users in a relational database.
