I am trying to add a picture into the worksheet, but file created using SaveXls is not readable by MS Excel 2007 (mesage given by Excel is "File error:data may have been lost"). Excel 2003 opens this file without problems. And I cannot use SaveXlsx because compartibility with older version of Office is required.

To use XLSX in older versions of MS Excel, use Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack: Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941B3470-3AE9-4AEE-8F43-C6BB74CD1466&displaylang=en
Since Microsoft changed how images are handled in XLS, GemBox.Spreadsheet generated XLS files with images may not work in Excel 2007 or Excel 2003 SP3. XLSX is a truly open specification so we recommend to users which need images, charts and pivot tables to use XLSX.

Hi,
If you want DateTime display format different than default, you need to use HtmlExporterOptions and override MethodCellValueToHtml with your custom method. This is an example how to provide custom methods to control every detail of HTML export: GemBoxSoftware.com/help/GemBox.Spreadsheet.HtmlExporterOptions.html

The best collection of samples is available if you install GemBox.Spreadsheet Free version from: ComponentSource.com/products/gembox-spreadsheet/downloads.html
Only URL that I can give that contains read/write/load/save examples is: GemBoxSoftware.com/GBSpreadsheet.htm#Features

I can't find any posibility to add validations to cells (like setting the maximum length of a filed or a selection list). Is this possible?

Dropdown / data validation is currently supported only via workbook templates, it is not supported in API. So, you can create an empty XLS file with desired cells with data validation settings, load it to GemBox.Spreadsheet with ExcelFile.LoadXls() method, insert all other data and formatting, and then save with ExcelFile.SaveXls() method.

Dear all,

My problem is related to setting margin in printout of Excel file since the default value of margin is 0.75 and i need to set it to be zero (0) . If i set it from Excel i have to set every time i changed to another Excel file. Is there any options in GemBox syntax that i can use from the ASP .NET using VB script.

Currently, you can only set HeaderMargin and FooterMargin in GemBox.Spreadsheet API. However, you can set other margins using templates (loading existing xls file as a template and then modifying it). Set correct left and right margins in the template file.
