Military Icon is a WPF control intended for use in .NET 3.5 mapping applications to represent warfighting symbology of a battlefield. MI2525B derives from System.Windows.FrameworkElement and can be used similarly to standard WPF controls.

The visual presented by the icon is configured by setting three main properties:

• UnitType: Defines the class of unit represented e.g.; Infantry, Armor, Installation, etc.
• HostilityLevel: Defines the threat level of the unit e.g.; Friendly, Hostail or Neutral
• BattleDimension: Defines the plane and dimension in which the unit exists e.g.; Above Surface, Surface Units, Surface Equipment, Surface Installation and Below Surface

Over 1,200 warfighting symbols can be created by using different property combinations. The Military Icon also includes a position property. By updating the position property with relative coordinates in anyspace, the control can display an arrow indicating the vector movement of the unit.
