SharePoint Form Web Part Benefits:

  • Quickly add forms to SharePoint pages.
  • Submits to ANY SharePoint list type (even custom lists).

  • Thank You Text – Optionally provide the text to be displayed to users after they use your form. Examples: “Thank you for requesting information”, “Thank you for providing feedback”, “Thank you for subscribing”, “Your vacation request has been submitted”, “Your expense report has been submitted”, “Thank you for signing up”, “We’ll see you at the meeting!”, “Thank you for being awesome!”, etc…
  • Allow Attachments – Optionally allow users to attach files to their form submissions.
  • Easily pass information from your new form to ANY Landing Page. You tell the SharePoint Form Web Part which fields you wish to pass to your Landing Page – it will automatically append them to your Landing Page URL as parameters. This is in addition to posting the information to a SharePoint list!
  • Submit Button Text – Optionally control the text on the Submit Button (example, change it to say “Send” or “Add” or “Go”, etc…)
  • Cancel Button – Optionally display a Cancel Button.
  • Cancel Button Text – If you want to use a Cancel Button, you can control the text on it (example, change it to say “Abort” or “Forget This” or “Nevermind”, etc…)
  • Cancel Button Landing Page URL – Optionally specify a Landing Page URL to redirect users if they click your Cancel Button (if you even want to use a Cancel Button).
  • Replace the Submit Button with an image of your choice.

SharePoint Form Web Part Features:

Buttons
Pick to use standard form buttons, handsome button images or just HTML enabled text for your Submit & Cancel buttons.

URL Fields
In addition to posting form data to a list, the sky is the limit when it comes to what you can do with this data on your Landing Page (if using one).  You can optionally pick which fields you want posted to your Landing Page, and your Landing Page doesn’t even have to be a SharePoint page – the field data will still be passed along.

Thank You Text
Type in the text you wish to be displayed to the user after they click the submit button.  This text will be displayed right above a new blanked out form just like the one they just filled out.  This is the option you would want to use for users who need to repetitively enter data using the same form (think Help Desk, entering Trouble Tickets, new Project Tasks, etc…).  The Thank You Text can also contain HTML if you wish (make the Thank You message a hyperlink, or bold, etc…).  Note:  Thank You Text is ignored if you are using a Landing Page (because the user is going to be redirected to your Landing Page which will contain whatever text/html you want).

Landing Page URL (after Submit Button is clicked)
If you want, you can provide the page URL to redirect the user to after they click Submit.  The Landing Page can be any URL you wish, even a non-SharePoint page works just fine.  Furthermore, if you are passing URL Fields to your Landing Page (see URL Fields above), they will be posted to any page you specify.  This comes in handy for personalized Landing Pages (Think:  “Thanks [Bob] for signing up for [Mondays] and [Wednesdays].  We really appreciate your help!”  - for example, items in [brackets] were passed from the SharePoint Web Form Web Part)

Landing Page URL (after Cancel Button is clicked)
Perhaps you wish to make sure the user understands what they are missing out on if they don’t submit information.  You can optionally provide a “Cancel Page” to redirect users if they click the Cancel button.  This page can also be any URL you wish, even non-SharePoint pages work just fine.

Attachments
Allow users to upload files with their form submissions.  If your list allows attachments, you can optionally enable this capability so users can upload files with the rest of the form information they have filled out.
