Health and Safety Policy Statement

It is the policy of ComponentSource to foster a positive health and safety culture throughout the Company because we believe that high standards of health and safety are a moral and commercial prerequisite of a modern business.

ComponentSource is committed to:

• providing adequate control of the health and safety risks arising from our work activities
• working to prevent accidents and work related ill health
• providing and maintaining safe equipment
• maintaining safe and healthy working conditions, and adequate welfare facilities
• ensuring all employees are competent to do their work and to give them adequate training where appropriate
• ensuring the safety of our customers and visitors at all times
• reviewing and if necessary revising this policy statement annually

Introduction

ComponentSource recognises and accepts its responsibilities under all applicable legislation and underlying regulations, including the responsibility to:

• provide and maintain a safe and healthy place of work
• provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision
• provide and maintain equipment and safe systems of work
• ensure safe access to and from places of work
• work to prevent accidents and work related ill health

General

1. The overall responsibility for health and safety lies with the CFO who has day to day responsibility for managing health and safety.
2. Component Source management are committed to achieving the highest standards of health and safety throughout the Company.
3. ComponentSource management are also committed to complying with the requirements of all statutory regulations that apply to the Company’s work activities.
4. The ComponentSource management team will ensure that assessments of all areas of work activities are carried out regularly, in order to identify hazards and work to prevent instances of injury, disease and dangerous occurrences arising.
5. ComponentSource management are fully committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions and adequate welfare facilities for all employees.
6. The Company will strive to maintain excellence in health and safety matters and in this respect, employees and others are encouraged to co-operate with the management in all safety matters, to identify hazards and reduce the risk which may exist during work activities and to report any condition which may appear dangerous or unsatisfactory. The Company will at all times consult with the employees on these matters.

Designated Health and Safety Manager’s Duties

1. To ensure that all the Company directors, managers, employees and contractors are aware of their individual health and safety responsibilities.
2. To initiate and/or recommend any changes, developments and amendments to this policy as and when necessary.
3. To inform the appropriate regulatory agency of all notifiable accidents, investigate any accidents or dangerous occurrences and recommend means of preventing re-occurrence.
4. To arrange appropriate health and safety training for all employees.
5. To promote an interest and responsible attitude towards health and safety matters throughout the Company.

Directors' Duties

1. ComponentSource Directors will have at least basic knowledge and understanding of all applicable health and safety legislation, underlying regulations and codes of practice in their jurisdictions.
2. It will be the responsibility of all the Directors to keep all employees advised as to their responsibilities in respect of health and safety matters.
3. In order to protect the safety and health of employees and others affected by the Company's operations, the Directors will:
   • Take reasonable steps to familiarise themselves with any hazards and risks associated with working at the Company and with the precautions which need to be taken to eliminate or control those risks.
   • Establish procedures to deal with any emergencies.
   • Ensure that employees receive sufficient training and information so that they can carry out their duties safely and competently. Ensure adequate funds and facilities are available for this purpose. Before entrusting work tasks to employees, take into account their capabilities as regards health and safety.
   • Ensure that all employees carry out their own health and safety responsibilities to protect both themselves and their work colleagues.
   • Ensure that adequate provision is made for welfare facilities and that adequate first aid provisions are made.

Homeworking

1. The Company accepts its duty of care to the employee extends to the employee’s home, and will ensure so far as reasonably practicable:
   • the provision of such IT or other equipment as is necessary for the employee to carry out their work from home. Such equipment may include desktop / laptop / tablet / monitors along with ancillary equipment such as keyboards or mice, as well as printers or copiers as needed. The Company will ensure any equipment supplied by the Company is maintained in accordance with industry or manufacturer recommendations.
   • the provision of any furniture that is necessary for the employee to work at home in a safe and healthy manner. Such furniture may include an office chair and, where practicable, an office desk.
   • the Company will carry out, or arrange to have carried out, an assessment of the working area and will provide equipment such as wrist supports or footrests, as needed.
   • the provision of support from line managers as necessary, to ensure the ongoing mental welfare of employees working from home.
   • the provision of adequate information, instruction and, where necessary, training to prevent accidents or work-related ill health.
2. The Company will ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, that all employees working from home have daily contact with their line manager.

Employee’s Duties

• Where reasonable, the employee will ensure that any parts of their home designated as ‘work’ areas are maintained to professional standards.
• The employee must take reasonable steps to ensure their own health and safety and that of their family members or visitors.
• The employee must ensure that any equipment/tools or appliances supplied by the Company are not used or left in any location that may cause harm or injury to the employee or any family members or visitors.
• The employee must work according to any instructions or training given to them by ComponentSource, including taking breaks or rest periods.
• Equipment or appliances supplied by ComponentSource remain in the ownership of ComponentSource and the employee must not interfere with or misuse them, and must return them when their homeworking ends for any reason, in good condition, fair wear and tear excepted.
• The employee must inform their line manager or any ComponentSource director if they feel their mental health is being adversely affected by any aspect of working from home.
• If any part of the working area becomes unsuitable because of a change in the employee’s domestic circumstances, he/she must inform their line manager as soon as reasonably practicable.
• The employee must ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, that all electrical fittings, including extension leads, are in good condition at all times.

This policy will be reviewed annually or when there is a change in circumstances, in work practices or the introduction of new legislation.
