Announcing .NET 10 Release Candidate 2

Microsoft releases the final Release Candidate for .NET 10 with a go-live support license ahead of general availability.

The .NET Framework is a comprehensive development platform that provides a rich set of class libraries, tools, and programming languages (like C#, VB.NET, and F#), enabling developers to create a variety of applications, from desktop software to web services and mobile apps. With the approaching release of .NET 10, Microsoft continues its commitment to delivering a modern, high-performance, and cross-platform development environment.

The new .NET 10 Framework brings with it a wealth of new and updated functionality, including:

  • .NET Runtime - Improvements in JIT inlining, method devirtualization, and stack allocations.
  • .NET Libraries - New APIs in cryptography, globalization, numerics, serialization collections, and diagnostics.
  • .NET SDK - Support for Microsoft.Testing.Platform, updates to the CLI, and enhanced compatibility.
  • Aspire, ASP.NET Core, C# 14, F#, and much more!

With .NET 10 Release Candidate 2, Microsoft has focused on final quality and stabilization in preparation for the general availability release. This includes updates to .NET MAUI, the Entity Framework Core, and various quality improvements to the SDK libraries and runtime.
