Connect AI Assistants to XML Tools via MCP
Oxygen AI Positron V8.4 adds a local MCP server, enabling external AI assistants to use XML tools and access editor context.

Oxygen AI Positron is an AI assistant add-on for Oxygen XML Editor, Author and Developer that connects to external AI service providers. It supports content generation, proofreading, translation and XML development tasks, with configurable actions and tools for working on documents and projects.
The Oxygen AI Positron V8.4 release introduces a local Model Context Protocol (MCP) HTTP server that allows external AI assistants, including Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor, to use Oxygen's XML tools. Assistants can validate XML, run XPath expressions, read and edit content, and retrieve context from open projects, documents and selections. Developers can configure the server in Oxygen's preferences and copy its connection settings into their chosen assistant. Changes made through the MCP editing tools can be reviewed, modified, accepted or rejected within Oxygen, giving developers control over edits made by external assistants.
