Microsoft has announced the availability of .NET 11 Release Candidate 2. The cross-platform development platform includes updates across its libraries, runtime, SDK, MSBuild, NuGet, F#, ASP.NET Core, .NET MAUI, and Windows Forms.
This second release candidate comes with a go-live support license, allowing developers to use it for production applications. Development is supported in Visual Studio 2026 Insiders and Visual Studio Code with the C# Dev Kit.
Highlights include incremental CBOR reading, configurable initial HTTP/2 concurrency, faster wildcard matching during project evaluation, and command-line configuration of minimum NuGet package publication age. Additional updates cover F# compiler memory usage, .NET MAUI XAML authoring and Hot Reload, and Windows Forms appearance and accessibility settings.
