Simplify Database Change Deployment
VersionSQL v2.7 adds schema comparison tools that let developers review database differences, select changes and generate SQL deployment scripts.

VersionSQL is a database version control solution that integrates with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), enabling developers and database administrators to track, manage and collaborate on database changes. It connects SQL Server databases with popular version control systems such as Git, allowing teams to maintain a complete history of database modifications, monitor changes to database objects and restore previous versions when required. By bringing version control into the database development workflow, VersionSQL helps teams improve collaboration, maintain consistency across environments and manage database development projects more effectively.
The VersionSQL v2.7 release introduces Schema Compare and Deploy, a new feature that enables developers and database administrators to compare database schemas, identify differences and generate deployment scripts directly within SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Users can compare live databases, version control revisions or script folders against a target database, with side-by-side views highlighting added, modified and removed objects. Flexible selection options, configurable comparison settings and dependency checks provide greater control over which changes are included in deployment scripts. With built-in safety checks and support for Azure SQL Database, the new functionality helps teams reduce manual effort, minimize deployment risks and manage database updates more efficiently.
