Trace Database Object Changes Through Git History

Redgate Flyway helps developers investigate database changes with object-level Git history and before-and-after comparisons in Flyway Desktop.

Trace Database Object Changes Through Git History

Redgate Flyway is a database change management tool that helps developers version-control schema changes and automate database deployments. It integrates database development into existing delivery pipelines, helping teams manage changes consistently across environments.

Object Level History in Flyway Desktop lets developers review the Git commits affecting an individual schema object without leaving the schema model. Each entry identifies the author, timestamp and commit message, while comparisons show how the object's definition changed. The history follows files through renames and includes uncommitted edits, helping developers investigate problems and understand earlier decisions before making further changes. The feature requires Flyway Enterprise and a project stored in Git.

Flyway is licensed commercially per user on a subscription basis, with renewal required to continue using the software. See our Flyway licensing page for full details.
