YouTrack Server

License, subscription, support, and updates

  • A YouTrack Server annual subscription lets you install one instance of YouTrack on your own server. A free license is granted for up to 10 users and 3 agents, and you may use all available updates for the free installation. If you would like to add more users or agents, you will need to purchase a user pack subscription, which includes the right to use YouTrack for your specific number of users and agents, support, and product updates for this extended installation for a period of one year. You can update YouTrack to any version released during the validity period of your subscription. If you have multiple YouTrack instances, each instance must have its own subscription.

Extending a subscription

  • You can renew your subscription each year. If renewed before the expiration date, the new term begins on the day after the previous subscription ends.

When your subscription expires, access to YouTrack Server is limited to users with system administrator permissions only. They can manage backups and either switch the instance to the Free plan for up to 10 users and 3 agents or apply a new paid license in License Settings.

YouTrack Helpdesk pricing

  • You can start using YouTrack Helpdesk for free with up to three support agents and unlimited reporters (e.g. customers who submit tickets). If you need four or more support agents, you can switch to a paid subscription. In a paid subscription, each support agent is paid, including the first three of them. Each support agent also requires a user license. For example, if your team consists of 22 members and 17 of them are regular users and five are support agents, you will pay for a 25-user pack and five support agents for your YouTrack subscription.

Legacy YouTrack Server subscriptions

  • If you purchased YouTrack Server before June 23, 2026, you’re on a legacy perpetual licensing model. You can continue using YouTrack Server for as long as you wish. You can renew your subscription for updates and support as usual, either before it expires or within 1 year of the expiration date.
  • While your updates and support subscription is active, you can choose to upgrade to a larger user pack or add more support agents. The upgraded license will remain perpetual for you. If more than 1 year has passed since your subscription expired, renewal is no longer available. You can continue using YouTrack with the number of users and product version available during your active subscription period. However, resuming updates and support, or increasing the number of users and agents, requires purchasing a new subscription that is no longer perpetual.

YouTrack Cloud
Licensed per user on an annual basis. To continue to use the software after 12 Months, you need to buy the license again.
