I've just downloaded the evaluation version of "DevPartner for Visual C++ BoundsChecker Suite" and tried to insert bounds checker instrumentation into our code. Since we work from outside the VS 2005 IDE, I've used the nmcl.exe to compile the sources. The problem is: As soon as I use the /MT (alternatively /MTd /MD /MDd) parameter for compiling, no object file will be generated for the C file - but there is no error message either. After compiling without the /MT option, objects are generated, but of course, linking fails. What is wrong with the build process?

Hi Team,
We were trying to get the code coverage of our project that contains one exe & lot of dlls .when we run devpartner>>start with code coverage analysis it is showing code coverage about exe only.dlls code coverage it is not showing.
Can we use code coverage for dlls.if yes please explain step by step.

I am running BoundsChecker 6.50 with Visual Studio C++ 6.0 without problems in Windows XP.
I installed Windows 7 and when I start debugging it shows the following message "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application".
If I disable BoundsChecker Integrated Debugging, I can debug normally.
Is BoundsChecker 6.50 not compatible with Windows 7? Is there a way that I can degug with BC in Windows 7?

Hello there ,
Not sure about the degree of compatiblity/support for Windows 7 you are going to have with very old versions of the product . Please, try the evaluation of the latest version of the product as it is Windows 7 compatible.
I hope it helps.

Is this a BoundsChecker bug?

Previously I had installed a evaluation version of DevPartner for Visual C++ BoundsChecker Suite. I uninstalled it (using the uninstaller provided) and then tried to install BoundsChecker 7.2. The setup, however, terminates with an error saying that I need to remove the older version of BoundsChecker first. There is no other version of BoundsChecker installed on the system, and I have restarted the system several times, and tried using System Restore to no avail (I'm using Windows XP SP3). Not even DevPartner for Visual C++ BoundsChecker Suite will install again!! Please help!!!

According to the patch notes this happens due to a expired certificate.
The patch did not work for me, but setting back the time to 2007 did work so ...

Hi.
I am currently using Visual Studio 6 as the IDE and have DevPartner for Visual C++ BoundsChecker Suite Version 8.1.1 installed on my system.
On Completion of the installation there was no DevPartner menu option created in the Visual C++ menu bar while I am able to launch the Error Detection and Coverage Analysis Viewer form the Windows menu, i.e Start --> All Programs-->Compuware DevPartner for Visual C++.
Please guide me on this front.

Hi,
Could somebody answer?
We use Visual C++ together with MATLAB. In MATLAB we write different COM DLLs and then use them from Visual C++ 6.0 programs.
The question is - whether BoundsChecker is able to found memory leaks in such MATLAB DLLs and how it will locate the suspicious code?
