Integration made easy. Enterprise Enabler for WSS allows you to visually build connectivity, create relationships across multiple sources, and map them to an ADO.NET object. The “behind the scenes” executables to access and transform the data are handled automatically, and you simply read and write to the EE ADO .Net driver. You have all the data access capabilities in WSS that you would have in SharePoint 2010 through the Business Connectivity Services, including full write-back to data sources with Create, Read, Update and Delete (CRUD) capabilities.
Enterprise Enabler (EE) for SharePoint WSS & Foundation: “BCS like functionality in WSS” For WSS 2.0, WSS 3.0, and SharePoint Foundation 2010 (WSS 4.0) Including one (1) Standard AppComms and the entire AppComms Starter Pack: Delimited Text, Virtual Store, Microsoft.Net Objects, COM+ Objects, Text. Extend WSS (Windows SharePoint Services) connectivity to access any data source, such as web services, Microsoft .NET Objects, MS Dynamics CRM, MS Dynamics AX, SAP, Salesforce.com, SQL, DB2, and many others.
Without programming, Enterprise Enabler for WSS allows you to visually build connectivity, create relationships across multiple sources, and map them to an ADO.NET object. The “behind the scenes” executables to access and transform the data are handled automatically, and you simply read and write to the Enterprise Enabler ADO .NET driver. You have all the data access capabilities in WSS that you would have in SharePoint 2010 through the Business Connectivity Services, including full write-back to data sources with Create, Read, Update and Delete (CRUD) capabilities.
The AppComm is built with a model driven architecture, when connecting to any backend system or applications they are connected live and discovering the schema of the objects of interested. Any customization to the objects recognized without any coding. That schema information is stored as metadata so there is never a need to compile and deploy assemblies when creating or modifying a dynamic data model.
The key here is that many of these AppComms influence a broad array of applications such as the Standard AppComms (i.e. XML, Web Services) and Database AppComms (i.e. DB2, SQL, etc.) optimization for various specific databases by Enterprise Enabler promotes consolidation of connections and centralizes maintenance of these connections using AppComms not static adapters). Stone Bond Technologies also provide API Level Connectivity (Developer SDKs are used for API level connectivity). Further, a document on how to build an AppComm that may be used to build connectivity quickly and easily to additional data sources is provided.
Enterprise Enabler Server
Enterprise Enabler Server is an award-winning business integration platform that revolutionizes the creation and management of integration across applications, data, and people. It combines in a single environment, capabilities that otherwise require multiple, disconnected products. Connectivity to applications and data sources uses AppComms, an altogether different technology than Adapters. Business process management (BPM) and Workflow capabilities with built-in service oriented architecture (SOA) are driven by end-to-end shared metadata.
Enterprise Enabler (EE) provides a broad spectrum of connectivity to hundreds of data sources, along with robust data transformation services that eliminate the constraints of the typical transformation engine, by handling all data in native form. This foundation of event-driven, real-time data-streaming technology moves information efficiently through business processes, workflows, SOA and composite applications.
Enterprise Enabler Studio, designed to eradicate repetitive aspects of building integration and workflows, is an extensible environment that comes with hundreds of pre-built objects. Development, testing, deployment, monitoring and solution management is available in the Studio’s single environment.
Enterprise Enabler Server enables a rich, flexible and adaptable mesh of web services in concert with non-web service and non-XML applications, data, and processes. SOA compliance is inherent to Enterprise Enabler Server’s architecture, allowing the product to quickly adopt all aspects of the emerging web services standards.
Enterprise Enabler Server Architecture
Enterprise Enabler Server is a Microsoft based technology that integrates processes, applications, and data sources residing on Microsoft and non-Microsoft platforms.
Enterprise Enabler is built on the Microsoft .Net 3.5 Framework and leverages all the features and enhancements of the Framework. All of the features are also passed on to the end users of EE, allowing them to easily build plug-ins, reusable code snippets , business rules, process nodes and AppComms (see below). In addition, EE supports the reuse of any libraries written in .net/com outside of EE, so that they become reusable components accessible through the standard EE development environment.
AppComm technology can be thought of as the next-generation of Adapters. It is the connectivity mechanism used by Enterprise Enabler to communicate with various applications and data sources, regardless of the platform on which they reside AppComms are part of an architecture that decouples the knowledge of how to connect to a particular type of application or data source from the assumptions about the specific instance. An Adapter is a full integration in itself, with predetermined source, destination, and mapping. An AppComm, on the other hand is completely metadata driven and reusable in its "off-the shelf" form without any modification. The AppComm architecture is always streaming, and offers high speed native connectivity.
All aspects of Enerprise Enabler (EE) are metadata driven, so metadata is captured about applications and connectivity, about how data transformation should occur, and about business process workflow. External metadata is discovered and captured through intelligence built into each AppComm, and internal metadata is captured during integration development. The existence of metadata describing processes and integration allows for the computerized monitoring and management of change and its impact across the environment. All metadata is stored, encrypted and compressed, in SQL Server 2005.
EE's runtime engine is architected to take advantage of multiple application domains to isolate each process instance, and within each domain multithreading is utilized to further support parallel processing. The result is high performance and scalability, with robustness enhanced by isolation which greatly reduces potential for severe failure.
Integration made easy.
