Indexing Outlook PST files with attachments
SearchBlox is happy to announce the release of Version 6.2 which includes the ability to index and search Outlook PST files including attachments contained within the emails. With the exponential growth of emails within every organization, finding the right information within your emails and attachments is challenging and time consuming. SearchBlox aims to simplify the process of finding information across your email archives, documents, websites and rss feeds.

SearchBlox provides developers with a powerful search platform for developing and deploying search applications, without having in-depth knowledge of Apache Lucene. As SearchBlox is a full product with integrated crawlers and web-based index/collection management, developers will save considerable time and effort by using SearchBlox compared to building a search application from scratch using Apache Lucene.

High Performance
SearchBlox is engineered from ground up to be Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) compatible. This enables SearchBlox is to leverage the performance and the scalability capabilities of J2EE technologies. The SearchBlox Architecture consists of several sub-systems designed for optimal performance and scalability.

Scalability
The Replication feature in SearchBlox keeps search indexes in multiple instances of SearchBlox across multiple physical machines synchronized. The SearchBlox instance that makes the indexes available for replication is called the Indexing Server and the one or more instances of SearchBlox that get the search indexes from the Indexing Server are called the Search Servers. The Indexing Server and the Search Servers use HTTP to communicate with each other.

Advanced API
The SearchBlox API provides the functionality to quickly crawl, index and search content. It completely hides all the complexities of dealing with the underlying Apache Lucene API. The SearchBlox API simplifies parsing and indexing documents accessible over HTTP or stored in the file system and also allows overriding of document content and/or metadata at index time.

Cloud Deployment
SearchBlox is available on the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2). There is no software or hardware to install. The SearchBlox Amazon Machine Images (AMI) are already configured for use on Amazon EC2. All you need to do is to select the SearchBlox AMI and start the instance.

On-premise Deployment
SearchBlox Server is available for fast deployment on Linux/Unix, Windows and Mac OS X platforms. The SearchBlox Server uses an one step installer for quick and error-free installation. In addition, it is available as a java war file for deployment to Java Application Servers such as Apache Tomcat.

SearchBlox is built on Apache Lucene – the leading open source search library. Search indexes built using SearchBlox adhere to open standards and offer greater flexibility compared to closed proprietary platforms.

Integrated Crawlers
SearchBlox provides crawlers for Filesystems, HTTP/HTTPS and RSS Feeds that work out-of-the-box. The HTTP/HTTPS crawler can index both public and protected content.

Multi-lingual Support
SearchBlox can index content in 37 languages including European and Asian languages. Stopwords and stemming are also supported for the different languages.

On-premise or Cloud Deployment
SearchBlox is packaged for fast deployment to Windows, Linux and Mac OS X operating systems. In addition, it is also available for deployment on Amazon Web Services Platform (AWS) and Rackspace.

Simple Setup
SearchBlox is managed entirely through web-based Admin Console. Document collections can be configured and indexed in a matter of minutes. SearchBlox supports scheduled operations such as indexing, which greatly reduces administrative overheads for such repetitive tasks.

Enterprise Support
SearchBlox offers a choice of support options backed by Service Level Agreements (SLA) to suit client requirements. SearchBlox has a strong track record of providing support to over 300 customers in 30 countries over the last 7 years.
