It's nice that the controls are all contained in a pair of ASP.NET DLLs. I'd like to see more controls like that, however the bugs left me with buyers remorse. The forums on the publisher web site contain issues that haven't been fixed for over a year. Be prepared to debug the foibles (like focus issues related to the IFrames you cannot avoid, carriage return mishandling, style propagation, and late JavaScript events gagging on their own methods) for several days. That being said, you can 'trick' RapidSpellWeb into doing a lot of nice stuff including hooking into their JavaScript event model and the shadow textarea beneath their inline textbox to good effect. Publisher Reply: Regarding roughczec's review, we have addressed all of these issues since the comment was posted.

I have been developing web applications since 1997 and recently used this product for a web site that gets 20 million hits a week. The RapidSpell Web .NET accomplished the task and not only was the technical support outstanding, but also I had to make the component run both client-side on .net web pages and server-side. The cool thing about this code is you have total control over customization. If you are a hard-core developer and need programmatic access for complete control, then this is your tool. The documentation is good and the technical support forum is very useful with lots of examples. If you have complex programming requirements, the technical support is not only responsive, but has in-depth knowledge to help you figure out how to accomplish your goals. I ran into a couple of issues and all I had to do was send some of my code over to technical support and they reviewed it and told me how to fix any problems. It was so helpful I cannot begin to tell you how much time they saved me in getting the job done. It's a good product and gets the job done. Thanks M Jones

We use the control for our website. The RapidSpell Web controls is excellent and the technical support is outstanding. A+ I had some very unique programming requirements that required extensive customization for using the spellchecker within web pages and across multiple browsers. The product worked like a champ and when I ran into programming issues, the technical support was very skilled and helped resolve my issues. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

I've been using the Keyoti RapidSpell Web .NET component for over 12 months now, and am still amazed at how good a product it is! I'm still receiving free minor upgrades, which not only contain minor bug fixes, but new features that their customers are requesting! I requested an additional feature, and overnight I received an updated version of the component that had that feature in it!! Gotta love that! The technical documentation is concise, but contains enough examples to get started (the sample projects in VB and C# all worked out of the box (which is rare!), and provided a framework to quickly get going). It also has the complete API reference. The technical support has been amazing, with overnight responses everytime, and emails providing information on the latest (free) minor upgrades or new dictionaries. They've also put out an Australian dictionary which was perfect for our organisation. We use the component in all sorts of web applications, from basic single static textboxes, to dynamic (with up to 28 textboxes on one page), user-control based pages with single button spell checking and multiple custom dictionaries! It works incredibly fast, and we've never had any errors from the component (some of the free ones I tried didn't work terribly well). What are you waiting for - go out and buy it NOW!
