Split and Rename TIF Documents.
BarcodeFiler reads 1D and 2D barcodes from TIF, PDF, and JPG documents to split files, rename output, and route documents into the right folders. It supports template-based naming, barcode-driven separators, watched input folders, blank page removal, command line execution, and Windows Service deployment for automated document processing.

Barcode-Based Document Splitting

BarcodeFiler splits multipage documents into sub-files according to barcode location and value. It can treat a barcode as the start of a document, the end of a document, the pages between barcodes, or use a change in barcode value to trigger a new document.

Template-Driven File Naming

The application builds output names from templates that can include the original file name, barcode values, sequence numbers, page information, reformatted barcode tokens, and Windows environment variables. This makes it possible to produce consistent naming patterns without manual renaming.

Flexible Input And Output Handling

BarcodeFiler can process files from an input folder or from files selected manually. It writes new documents to an output folder while allowing the original files to remain in place, move to a processed folder, or be deleted after processing.

Folder Monitoring And Scheduled Processing

The software can run automatically by timer or by watching the input folder for new files. It also includes settings for locked file handling, which helps when files are still being written or cannot be accessed immediately at processing time.

Configurable Barcode Recognition

BarcodeFiler lets users choose which barcode types to read and tune recognition behavior for performance and accuracy. Options include support for multiple barcodes per page, timeouts, image cleanup settings, checksum handling, barcode length limits, and scan zones.

Barcode Value Validation And Reformatting

The application can validate barcode content with regular expressions, numeric rules, and sequential checks. It can also reformat barcode values into new output strings, assign reformatted values to tokens, and use those values in file names, logs, and folder paths.

PDF Rendering And Signing

For PDF workflows, BarcodeFiler includes rendering options for scanned or faxed documents, with configurable color depth and DPI settings. It can also digitally sign PDF files as they are created in the output folder using certificate-based signing settings.

Blank Page Removal And Format Conversion

BarcodeFiler can remove pages that appear blank from output files, using a configurable margin to ignore page edges during detection. It also supports output format conversion and processing modes that convert files or remove blank pages without barcode reading.

Scriptable Batch Automation

The software can launch external commands at multiple stages of processing, including before a run, before a file is processed, when a barcode is recognized, when an output file is created, and after processing completes. This supports integration with wider document workflows.

Command Line And Service Deployment

BarcodeFiler can run from the command line using exported settings files, with options for automatic start, automatic exit, and hidden execution. It can also run as a Windows Service, with support for multiple service instances handling different input and output folders.
