ComponentOne SizerOne is a set of ActiveX interface components designed to help developers build desktop applications with layouts that adapt more effectively to changing window sizes and content. It focuses on managing how forms and child controls resize, align, and organize within a container, while also supporting tabbed, multi-page interfaces for structuring related content in a single window. It gives developers a way to create Windows-based user interfaces that remain orderly and usable without relying on large amounts of manual resizing and positioning code.
Automatic Form Resizing
SizerOne provides resizing components that adjust controls as a form or container changes size. It supports both straightforward layouts and more involved interface arrangements, so applications can preserve usable proportions and placement without requiring developers to manually recalculate every control position.
Container-Based Layout Control
The layout components can work inside forms or within other container controls. This lets developers build nested interface regions that resize independently, making it easier to structure dialogs, composite views, and data entry screens with predictable behavior as users expand or shrink the window.
Flexible Child Control Sizing
SizerOne can resize child controls in different ways, including proportional, even, uneven, and grid-based behavior. That gives developers control over how fields, lists, buttons, and other interface elements respond when the available space changes during runtime.
Alignment Within Available Space
The layout components support alignment to the top, bottom, left, right, or fill area of a container. This helps developers define how interface regions occupy space and combine multiple sections in a form without writing custom alignment and resize logic.
Grid-Based Interface Design
SizerOne includes grid-oriented layout behavior for arranging controls in rows and columns. Developers can place controls first and let the component derive the grid, or build a grid structure directly, which helps create consistent forms and faster layout refinement.
Runtime Resizing Interaction
The layout components can expose splitter-style behavior that lets users resize areas with the mouse while the application is running. This adds interactive control over panel proportions and supports interfaces where users need to adjust space for different tasks or content densities.
Tabbed Page Navigation
The C1Tab component creates notebook-style and Outlook-style tabbed interfaces. Developers can define multiple pages, attach content to each tab, and build forms that switch between related views while keeping the interface organized inside a single window.
Multi-Page Form Composition
SizerOne supports building complete tabbed forms by creating tabs, assigning captions, attaching page containers, and populating each page with controls. This makes it suitable for settings dialogs, record editors, and other interfaces that group functions across separate pages.
Text File And String Parsing
The C1Awk component scans and parses text files as well as in-memory strings. Developers can use it for format conversion, validation, value retrieval, calculated text handling, and similar text-processing tasks without building a custom parser from scratch.
Data Extraction For Application Logic
SizerOne helps applications work with structured and semi-structured text by exposing parsing behavior through component properties and events. This supports scenarios such as reading fields from incoming text, processing clipboard-style content, and feeding parsed values into application workflows.

How to Buy
ActiveX is no longer fully supported* and has been removed from the ComponentOne Studio Enterprise Subscription. You can still download and license the last version of the ActiveX Edition individually.
MESCIUS have followed the Microsoft "It Just Works" compatibility for their ActiveX controls. Due to changes in the Windows operating system, and end of support from Microsoft, they can no longer fully support and provide maintenance builds of any ActiveX control. *You may still request a meeting with the product manager to discuss support and migration options.
