Subscription License Renewal
Our prices include ComponentSource licensing and installation support, technical support is provided directly by the publisher based on their policies for support and the type of license you purchase. For your convenience, we retain an online backup of any licensing information that we have issued directly or has been provided to us by the publisher. You can request a FREE upgrade to a new version, if it is released within 30 days of your purchase. All sales are made on our standard Terms and Conditions and subject to our Return Policy. Please if you require any licensing option not listed, including volume licensing and older versions of the product.
Free community licenses are available for individual developers looking for a simple and reliable framework for versioning and automating the deployment of database changes.
Commercial licenses build on the functionality of the community edtion and are licensed per user, per year. Licenses can be bought as a 1, 2 or 3 year subscription which will need to be renewed at the end of the subscription term to continue using Flyway. We can supply licenses for Flyway Teams and Flyway Enterprise.
You will need to renew the license at the end of the subscription term to continue using Flyway and to receive upgrades and support.

If you purchase a new license, you can download any prior version of the same software, however Redgate Software recommends to use the latest version.

One software license is required per user, per year. Licensed on a subscription basis you will need to renew the license at the end of the subscription term to continue using Flyway.
Flyway Teams* and Enterprise editions are billed on a "per user" basis. However, the Teams edition license is limited to use in no more than 100 schema. If you require more schemas you will need to purchase an Enterprise edition license.
Support and upgrades
For the duration of the purchased support you will receive:
Flyway Enterprise - Ideal for medium and large enterprises who require secure and automated processes with compliance control to develop, test and deploy database changes
Flyway Teams* - Ideal for organizations looking to improve collaboration and fine tune their processes during development and the deployment of database changes.
* Please note: Since May 14th 2025 Flyway Teams is now only available to existing customers who are able to purchase additional licenses or renew their current subscription. If you do not already own Flyway Teams please request a quote for Flyway Enterprise.
How are schemas counted? (applies to licenses purchased from September 2022)
Determining if you have fewer or more than 100 schema:
Example 1: Say you have 1 SQL Server instance running 5 databases, with each database containing 10 schemas. This amounts to 5 x 10 schemas = 50 schemas. How the schemas are spread among databases and database instances doesn’t matter. In this case you are below the 100 schema limit, and can purchase Flyway Teams.
Example 2: Similar to Example 1 but now a schema is replicated across multiple database instances, each replica must be accounted for. This means that if you have your 50 schemas replicated across 5 SQL Server instances, it counts: 1 SQL Server instance x 5 server replications x 5 databases x 10 schemas each = 250. In this case you are above the 100 schema limit, and must purchase Flyway Enterprise, please contact us for a quote.

All commercial Flyway licenses are time-limited. They are subscription based and include updates and support for the duration of the subscription term.
You cannot continue to use the licensed product after your subscription period ends. Subscription license renewals are available.
Redgate Software does not sell previous versions directly, but if you purchase a new license you may also download and use previous versions, provided your serial number is valid for that specific version. Please note that Redgate Software recommends to use the latest version.
Yes. Flyway is licensed per user, not per machine.
No. Licenses cannot be transferred to another user.
The Community license allows access to the community forums only.
The Teams and Enterprise licenses include free upgrades, and full support by email, forum, or phone.
Yes. The Teams and Enterprise licenses require activation which can be done online or offline.
