General NOV Improvements:

• Support for .NET Core 10.0:
  • NOV has a native build for .NET Core 10.0, in addition to the supported builds for .NET Framework 4.7.2+ and .NET Core 8.0 and .NET Core 9.0.
• Support for Visual Studio 2026:
  • The installation now fully supports Visual Studio 2026.

NOV Chart for .NET Improvements:

• Line Study Series:
  • Added a new Line Study Series, that supports Trend, Fibonacci Arcs, Fibonacci Fans, Fibonacci Retracements, Quadrant lines, and Speed Resistance lines line studies.
• Palette Fill Mode:
  • Added a new Palette Fill Mode to the Fast Area, Fast Bar, Fast Line and Fast Point Series.
• Lidar Data Import:
  • Added support for importing ESRI ASC Grid Data, LAS, and LAZ files and new examples showing how to display Lidar cloud points, grids, and triangulated meshes.
• Improved GPU Rendering:
  • Improved GPU rendering speed. Optimized shader rendering for all Fast Series and Surface Series.
• Extended Multi-threaded Support:
  • Added support for multi-threaded Delaunay triangulation and multi-threaded contour extraction for the Grid, Mesh, and Triangulated surfaces series, as well as the Heat Map series.

NOV Diagram for .NET Improvements

• Drawing Explorer:
  • Added a new Diagram UI Widget that allows you to browse, edit and navigate to the elements of a drawing.
• Format Painter Tool:
  • Added a format painter tool that makes it easy to copy geometry and text formatting of shapes.
• Background Pages:
  • Implemented support for background pages, which can be used as backgrounds of standard (foreground) pages.
• Predefined Page Backgrounds
  • Added a drop down menu with predefined page background.
• Improved Page Navigator:
  • The Page Navigator has been improved to support Background Pages. UI operations on pages have been unified between the Page Navigator and the Drawing Explorer.
• Improved Routing and Line Jumps:
  • The Routing and Line Jumps performance has been significantly optimized.
• Family Tree Improvements:
  • Added an option to display a gender (male/female) symbol in front of person names.
• Microsoft Visio Compatibility Improvements:
  • Import and export of background pages.
  • Improved import of colors with tint and shade.
  • Import of spline geometry commands.

NOV Rich Text Editor for .NET Improvements

• Format Painter Tool:
  • Added a format painter tool that makes it easy to copy text formatting.
• Improved Rich Text Editing:
  • The editor behavior for applying all inline level styles - Font Name/Size, Font Style (Bold, Italic, Underline), Baseline (superscript/subscript), as well as text filling and highlighting has been revised to completely match the behavior of MS Word.

NOV Barcode for .NET Improvements

• GS1-128:
  • Implemented the GS1-128 linear barcode symbology, which is commonly used in supply chain management and retail applications.

Framework and UI Improvements

• Vector Icons:
  • All raster icons replaced with SVGs to make them look great on high DPI displays.
• SVG Images:
  • Improved image bounds detection.
• JPEG Images:
  • Implemented loading of EXIF JPEG images, which are commonly generated by digital cameras. 

Design-Time Support

• Predefined Image Selector:
  • Added a predefined image picker that makes it easy to select and use images embedded in NOV Presentation in both the WinForms and the WPF designer.
• Stability and Performance Improvements:
  • Improved stability and performance of the WinForms and WPF designers for .NET Framework 4.7.2 and .NET 8.0. 

NOV Chart for .NET

• Fast Area Series:
  • A new Fast Area series has been added to the existing set of fast series. It enables real-time visualization of extremely large datasets - up to millions of data points, in both 2D and 3D area charts. This is achieved through extensive GPU utilization for computational tasks. The series supports both 2D and 3D modes, as well as per-data-point color customization.
• Area Series Step Mode:
  • The standard Area series now supports multiple step modes: Horizontal Vertical (HV), Vertical Horizontal (VH), and Horizontal Vertical Horizontal (HVH), allowing for more versatile data presentation.
• Best Visibility Dock Axis Anchors:
  • New axis docking anchors automatically select the most suitable docking zone based on the current chart projection. Combined with the automatic chart wall visibility feature, this ensures maximum readability and visibility of the chart data.
• Table Scale:
  • A new Table Scale type introduces categorical (ordinal) scaling that can display tabular data, with each column representing an axis category. This feature is especially useful for stacked charts or charts with multiple series.
• Palette Legend Item:
  • The new Palette Legend Item allows gradient-based palette data to be displayed as a scale. This is particularly helpful in surface charts and heat maps where color gradients represent a third data dimension such as temperature or altitude.
• Bubble Size Legend Item:
  • Commonly used in Bubble charts, this legend item provides a numeric reference for bubble sizes, represented as a series of circles originating from a common base.
• Interactivity Enhancements:
  • New tools have been added for zooming and panning. Existing interactivity tools now support mouse wheel actions (e.g., wheel zooming) and keyboard interactions for smoother navigation.
• Custom Painting:
  • Developers can now inject custom painting logic before or after the chart is rendered, providing advanced flexibility for tailored visualizations.
• Coordinate Transformations:
  • New methods have been added for converting between logical, model, and view coordinates. This complements the custom painting feature, allowing developers to draw arbitrary content that aligns precisely with chart data on screen.
• Texture Mapping:
  • The control now supports texture mapping (gradients, images and patterns) to all chart objects in 3D.

• Mermaid Flowchart Import:
  • Support has been added for importing diagrams defined using the Mermaid flowchart syntax.
• Length Editors:
  • Property editors for lengths now correctly account for the drawing scale of the page, ensuring accurate editing in scaled drawings.

NOV UI for .NET 

• Font Awesome Integration
  • The new NFontSymbolShape attribute enables easy use of Font Awesome symbols, allowing icons to be embedded wherever standard widgets can appear.
• Wildcard Search in the Auto Complete Box
  • Added wildcard search mode to the auto complete box, for example "B?l*" to match "Belarus", "Belgium", "Bolivia", "Bulgaria".
• Item Hover
  • Support for item hover effect for list boxes, tree views and auto complete boxes.
• Non-Gregorian Calendar Support
  • The Calendar and DateBox widgets now support non-Gregorian calendars, including Persian, Hindi, and others.

  • This new set of fast series enables real-time data visualization of extremely large datasets - up to millions of data points - by leveraging GPU acceleration for many computations. All three series support both 2D and 3D visualization modes, as well as per-data-point color information, making them ideal for demanding real-time, scientific, and medical applications.
• Improved Data Labeling:
  • All series now feature optimized performance for automatic data label positioning and layout.
• Enhanced Axis Dock Anchors:
  • Axis dock anchors can now automatically switch docking sides to improve axis visibility.
• Improved Data Zoom Tool:
  • The data zoom tool now supports zooming in/out at the current mouse position using the mouse wheel.
• Palette Editor:
  • Added a new editor for chart palettes allows users to select and customize palette colors.

• Visio Layers Import/Export:
  • Added support for importing and exporting Visio layers from drawings (VSDX, VSD) and stencils (VSSX, VSS).
• New Calendar Shapes Library:
  • Added a new set of calendar shapes enables easy embedding of calendars and schedules in diagrams, including shapes for common date/time units (e.g., month shape, year shape).
• Property Editors:
  • DIP-based property editors now use the logical unit of the page.
• Page Navigator:
  • Improved customization options for buttons and the page context menu.

NOV Rich Text Editor for .NET

• Text Frames:
  • Added support for importing and exporting text frames in both RTF and DOCX formats.
• Controllable Measurement Units:
  • DIP property editors now use a unit system based on the application's current culture. This allows for easy switching between imperial (inches, DIP) and metric (cm, mm) units, enhancing the control's localization capabilities. By default, the control displays units according to the user’s selected culture.

NOV UI for .NET Improvements

• Added a new Alert Widget:
  • A special label widget that can be quickly styled using its `Style` and `Type` properties. It now allows developers to easily display messages, warnings, and errors in their applications.

Framework Improvements

• Cloud Storage Integration:
  • Built-in integration with Google Drive and Dropbox that allows NOV applications to transparently save and load files in popular Cloud Storage services.
• New Editor for NColor DOM Arrays:
  • Enables editing of color arrays exposed via the public API of any NOV control.
