  • Product - A 'product' is based on a unique Derivative Work. "Derivative Works" means any software programs which are developed by Customer and which incorporate or contain modifications to any part of the Licensed Software in Source Code form, and including any revision, modification, translation (including compilation or recapitulation by computer), abridgement, condensation, expansion or any other form in which the Licensed Software in Source Code form may be recast, transformed, or adapted.
  • per domain - Manually generate an Activation Key for the Domain where the editor is used.
  • Wildcard - One unique Activation Key that works for any domain.
  • SaaS Subscription - Your customers pay a subscription e.g. monthly, yearly, per sale.
  • Mobile Apps - Include the editor in a product that is deployed in a native mobile app.
  • Internal Apps - Include the editor in a product that is only accessible by your staff. Froala classifies any application accessed by your internal staff only (typically behind a login or portal) as an Internal application.
  • Redistribution - Include the editor in a product that is not used on your website.

The Professional license allows you to use the Froala WYSIWYG HTML Editor on three domains. It is suitable for free apps, websites, CMS, and email applications. The Professional license also allows you to use the Froala WYSIWYG HTML Editor in an intranet, or mobile application. The Professional license does not include the unminified source code. You are not allowed to use the Froala WYSIWYG HTML Editor in SaaS, or a subscription product. You will need an Enterprise plan to use the editor in these products.

The license is non-transferable and can only be used in a single product, either:

  • Owned by the license holder (the company, person, or organization holding the license), or
  • To which the product owner grants the license holder the permission to act on his behalf for the purpose of the License Agreement.

Once an Activation Key has been generated for a Domain it cannot be deleted or transferred. There are some exceptions for this though, which are explained below.

  • The transfer is possible if the new Domain Name is a slight modification, e.g. a typo or change from .com to .net.
  • The Activation Key cannot be transferred from development or staging to production.
