Encompassing a complete architectural restructure that eliminates the dependency on activePDF Server, decreasing the number of processing steps required while increasing reliability and consistency.

activePDF Clustering Technology enables you to simplify deployments, allowing you to centrally control PDF conversion settings for all servers involved, all while harnessing the processing power of either dedicated machines or multiprocessor virtualized servers. Clustering also affords you a reliable fail-over solution for mission-critical applications, allowing jobs to be re-routed in the event of a node failure within the cluster.   

With activePDF Clustering Technology, you can take full advantage of multi-server deployments, including SMP-based virtualized servers, changing the paradigm in PDF creation, conversion and manipulation by enhancing performance, conversion speeds, and reliability.

In the activePDF Clustering scenario, incoming jobs are directed to a designated activePDF Cluster Controller, where the overrideable PDF settings to be used in generating the output PDF reside. The Cluster Controller continuously monitors each Cluster Node within the cluster to determine maximum availability and then submits the conversion job (along with the pertinent settings) to the designated node for processing. Once the conversion is complete, the job is routed back to the Cluster Controller.
