What happens during the account authorization process?
When placing an order online your payment goes through an authorization process, during which your credit card, or ComponentSource account is charged to the value of the products being purchased.
This authorization process goes through various stages, which should not take more than a few seconds to complete.
If there is a problem during the authorization process we would ask you to contact us in order that we can resolve the issue and provide you with your components as quickly as possible.
Here are some of the most common reasons the authorization could fail and the messages that will be displayed:
- Authorization for this transaction has been declined by the credit card company.
What this means for you: Your credit card company has not authorized the charge to your account for one of many possible reasons. To find out what the exact problem is, contact your credit card company. - Authorization for this transaction has been referred to the credit card company.
What this means for you: The credit card company has not authorized the charge to your account and is seeking more information about you, the card holder or the nature of the transaction. If you would still like to proceed with your order, then please contact us as we will have to seek manual approval from the credit card company. - All lines to the credit card company are temporarily busy.
What this means for you: Our systems cannot connect to the credit card company, most likely due to heavy traffic. Please try again or contact us for assistance. - The data that you have entered is invalid. Please try again or contact ComponentSource if you require help.
What this means for you: The credit card type, number or expiry date you have entered is incorrect. Please check the card details and try again or contact us for assistance. - The Card Security Code supplied is incorrect.
What this means for you: The credit card company has not recognized the Card Security Code you have entered. Please check the card details and try again or contact us for assistance. - Thanks you for your order. As a security check, please call ComponentSource to complete this order. Your credit card has not yet been debited.
What this means for you: Your order has not been authorized due to one of our systems security checks. Contact us your nearest ComponentSource Office to complete the purchase.
