Graphical Data Mapping Interface

MapForce provides an intuitive drag-and-drop interface for visually connecting source and target data elements across formats such as XML, JSON, databases, and more. The design pane offers helpful features like auto-connection of matching child elements, duplicate link creation, and pop-up previews of connection details.

Advanced Data Transformation Functions

It includes a rich library of built-in data processing functions for on-the-fly manipulations like concatenation, mathematical operations, filtering, and type conversions. Users can build reusable custom functions visually with the function builder, and import existing XSLT or user-defined functions for complex data processing scenarios.

Any-to-Any Multi-Source and Multi-Target Mapping

MapForce supports defining projects with multiple inputs and outputs, allowing data integration from disparate sources to multiple destinations. Chained transformations are supported, enabling the output of one mapping to flow as input to another.

Broad Data Format Support

It handles a wide range of formats including XML (with schema and DTD support), JSON, relational and NoSQL databases, flat files, EDI standards (EDIFACT, X12, HL7, etc.), PDF extraction, Excel spreadsheets, XBRL financial data, Protocol Buffers, and Web services integration.

Database and NoSQL Mapping

MapForce automatically interprets database schemas, enabling mappings involving various relational databases like SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB. It supports direct querying, transaction control, and SQL/XML functions during mappings.

Interactive Debugger and Output Preview

The component includes an interactive debugger that enables step-by-step execution of mappings to inspect data flow and transformation results in detail. Users can preview generated outputs instantly for XML, JSON, flat files, databases, EDI, Excel, and other formats.

Code Generation and Automation

MapForce can generate code in Java, C#, and C++ based on mapping designs. Data mappings can also be compiled into execution files for automation and deployment using MapForce Server, supporting batch processing and integration with FlowForce server workflows.

Legacy Data Support with FlexText

The included FlexText utility allows parsing and converting complex text and flat files using graphical rules to extract relevant data segments for mapping.

Web Services and AI Integration

MapForce supports invoking SOAP and REST Web service operations within mappings, handling XML or JSON payloads. It also allows integrating AI services by calling APIs (like OpenAI) to enhance data processing with intelligent analysis and classification.
