MadCap Flare Licensing

We can supply any MadCap Flare license including timed subscriptions, floating timed subscriptions, and subscription renewals.

Timed Subscription License: You are licensed to use the software for the subscription period only.

Floating Timed Subscription License: You are licensed to use the software for the subscription period only. Allows sharing across a pool of users by providing a single key that specifies the total number of users that can concurrently use the software.

Floating Enterprise Timed Subscription License: You are licensed to use the software for the subscription period only. Allows sharing across a pool of users by providing a single key that specifies the total number of users that can concurrently use the software. Supports image based distribution and eliminates the need to re-activate if machines are re-imaged.

Perpetual Licenses: New MadCap Flare Perpetual Licenses are no longer available, however existing customers may continue to renew their subscription or add new perpetual licenses as long as they are currently on maintenance. If their maintenance has expired, they will be subject to new subscription pricing if they want to upgrade and/or purchase additional seats.

License Agreements

FAQs

Is the license permanent (perpetual) or temporal (time-limited)?

MadCap Flare licenses are time-limited and you must purchase a renewal in order to continue using the software after the subscription period ends. For further information, please see the License Agreement.

What happens after my subscription expires?

After expiry, you will no longer be licensed to use the software. In order to continue using it you must renew your subscription. For further information, please see the License Agreement.

Can I co-term (align) my existing licenses?

Yes. ComponentSource can arrange to co-term your licenses, even if they were not originally purchased through us. Please call us or send us a message to discuss your needs.

Can I add a new license / previous version to my existing MadCap Software account?

Yes. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Can I buy an old product version?

MadCap Software does not sell previous versions directly, but purchasing any new license gives you access to download older versions of the same product.

Can I install my license on more than one machine?

Yes. Each license can be installed on two different machines, as long as they are both on different domains.

Can a license be transferred from one developer to another?

Yes. You can deactivate your license from within the Help Ribbon, or the MadCap support team can help you transfer a license to another developer.

What type of support do I get?

New MadCap Flare licenses include a 12 month Platinum support and maintenance subscription. This provides product upgrades and updates, unlimited priority email and telephone support, access to the Senior Engineer support team, access to the knowledge base and forums, and the option to send projects directly to the support team for analysis. Support hours are Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Pacific Time).

Does this product require online / offline activation?

Only Floating and Enterprise Floating licenses need an internet connection to use the license.
