DevExpress VCL Subscription adds Rich Edit Control

DevExpress VCL Subscription includes components for data entry, charting, data analysis, navigation, layout, grids, scheduling, styling, reporting, printing and planning. The subscription includes full source code plus a 12 month period where all new product releases are delivered automatically. Developer Express VCL Subscription includes current and new products, product upgrades (major and minor) and access to all betas in active development. In addition, when you subscribe to Developer Express VCL Subscription, all your support inquiries will be given top priority.

• VCL Rich Edit Control - Enable your users to create or edit rich text documents with ease using a set of text formatting commands.
• Rating Control - A new Rating Control now ships inside the ExpressEditors Library. With this fully customizable control, you can:
  • Switch the control's orientation to horizontal or vertical.
  • Reverse control direction.
  • Change the number of elements (stars) displayed in the control.
  • Provide custom element images.
  • Choose between three element fill modes: fill entire stars only, use half-star precision, or fill stars as specified by the control's value.
  • Unbound, data-aware, standalone, and in-place versions of the Rating Control are available.
• VCL Pivot Grid
  • Performance Enhancements - Improved performance and optimized memory usage when exporting data. Export methods are now about 3 times faster and use up to 4 times less memory than in previous releases. Large data sets can now be grouped into rows and columns up to 30% faster than in previous releases.
• Data Export - The VCL Spreadsheet control, and its core export functionality, are now a principal component of the data export engine. This significantly simplified the engine's code and avoid code duplication when implementing new features, including:
  • Track the progress of export operations and abort if necessary.
  • Export data to CSV files.
  • Export detail grid Views to XLS, XLSX, or TXT files.
  • Custom encoding formats for strings exported to TXT or CSV files.
  • Export images to XLS files.
• VCL Grid Control - Context menu now includes options to customize the Group By box settings and change Find Panel visibility.
• New Office 2016 Styles - Introduce the Office 2016 user experience to your application.

  • Unified Indicator for Drag-and-Drop Operations - This new indicator style replaces previously available styles ("classic" and "hot zone") with more intuitive suggestions on potential drop positions.
  • Alignment Customization Toolbar - Dropping a layout element in quick customization mode now displays a toolbar that offers options for customizing the element's alignment.

  • Scrolling Improvements - New map option activates inertial scrolling. When the mouse button is released, map scrolling comes to a gradual stop. In addition to use of the mouse, end-users can scroll a map using arrow keys.
• VCL Data Editors and Controls
  • Modern-style drop-down calendar featuring mouse wheel support and optional animation.
  • Image Editor now supports animated GIF images.
  • Optionally align an error icon to the right edge of an editor whose value failed validation.
  • Toggle Switch Editor now allows you to indicate its checked state with text or an image.
• VCL Skinning Library New Visual Studio 2013 Themes - This release includes three new app-wide themes: Visual Studio 2013 Blue, Visual Studio 2013 Light, and Visual Studio 2013 Dark.
• Icon Library - The library now includes about 3,100 icons and the design-time DevExpress Image Picker is populated with icons significantly faster.
