On 01-Sep-2021, Revenera/Flexera changed the licensing model of the InstallShield and AdminStudio product lines. All new licenses are now 3 year non-perpetual Timed Subscription licenses. Perpetual licenses are no longer available for purchase. At the end of the Timed Subscription, you have to renew the Subscription to continue to create new/edit existing installation scripts. If you have an existing Perpetual License with Maintenance Plan that was purchased before 1-Sep-2021 AND that Bronze/Silver/Gold Maintenance Plan has not expired, you can renew that active Maintenance Plan for an additional year. If you let that Perpetual License Maintenance Plan expire, you will be required to buy a new Timed Subscription (non-perpetual) license to continue to receive upgrades and support.

  • Extended Support for Microsoft Intune
    • This release extends support for the following in Microsoft Intune Publish:
      • Publish IntuneWin Packages to Microsoft Intune - Added the ability to set various deployment properties like Requirements, Detection Rules etc to an .intunewin package and publish to Microsoft Intune.
      • Support for Intune on Microsoft Azure Government Cloud - Added support for publishing all the applicable package types to Intune on Azure Government Cloud.
  • Package Backlog Improvements
    • The following improvements have been added to the Package Backlog to help you better manage your package Backlog requests:
      • A new Add button to manually add a new package request to your package backlog. This will help you manage Backlog package requests.
      • An Edit button to make changes to an existing package request in the Backlog.
      • A Customize button to launch the customization wizard of a selected package to select from various options for customizing the installation.
      • A new Context Menu with various options at each package request for easy accessibility.
  • Package Customization Improvements
    • The following improvements have been added for Package Customization:
      • Automation Support for Package Customization - You can now add package customization to the Package Automation. When an application is subscribed for automation, customization options selected for a given version of an application will be saved and applied to the new version, when available in the Package Feed Module.
      • Customize Options in the Home Tab - A new Customize button in the ribbon and a new Customize context menu for the MSI packages have been added in the Home tab to launch the customization wizard for the selected MSI package.
  • Compatibility with Microsoft Windows 11
    • Installation and various functionalities of AdminStudio 2021 R2 have been tested on the new Microsoft Windows 11. The product is compatible with Windows 11 and there were no compatibility issues seen on the new version of the operating system.
  • Support for New Java versions
    • Added the ability to test your applications to know if they have dependency on the latest Java versions 16.0 and 17.0
  • Support for Microsoft ConfigMgr 2107
    • This release adds support for the latest version of Microsoft ConfiMgr 2107. You will be able to set various application model properties and publish the following deployment types (packages) from AdminStudio to ConfigMgr 2107.
      • Microsoft Windows Installer Package (.msi).
      • Microsoft App-V Virtual Package (.sft, .appv).
      • Apple iOS (local and public store).
      • Google Android (local and public store).
      • Microsoft UWP app packages (.appx).
      • Installation Package (.exe).
      • Microsoft PowerShell wrapped packages (.ps1).
      • Microsoft MSIX Package (.msix).
  • Support for Windows 10 21H1
    • Added the ability to test compatibility of your applications against the latest Windows Operating System - Windows 10 21H1.
