On 01-Sep-2021, Revenera/Flexera changed the licensing model of the InstallShield and AdminStudio product lines. All new licenses are now 3 year non-perpetual Timed Subscription licenses. Perpetual licenses are no longer available for purchase. At the end of the Timed Subscription, you have to renew the Subscription to continue to create new/edit existing installation scripts. If you have an existing Perpetual License with Maintenance Plan that was purchased before 1-Sep-2021 AND that Bronze/Silver/Gold Maintenance Plan has not expired, you can renew that active Maintenance Plan for an additional year. If you let that Perpetual License Maintenance Plan expire, you will be required to buy a new Timed Subscription (non-perpetual) license to continue to receive upgrades and support.

  • Support for Zero-Configuration MSI Deployments - AdminStudio now supports Zero-Configuration MSI deployments imports in to catalog. This update also enables streamlined migration of applications from ConfigMgr to Intune.
  • New Properties Added to “General Information” Tab - With this update, AdminStudio now supports importing these properties from ConfigMgr. Users can also publish any changes made to these properties back to ConfigMgr, ensuring seamless synchronization between AdminStudio and ConfigMgr. New properties:

    • Owners.
    • Supported Contacts.
  • Custom Naming for Content Location in ConfigMgr App Model - AdminStudio now supports the use of placeholders in the Content Location section. This new capability allows users to define custom path for the application using dynamic placeholders in the content location. This enhancement enables automated, structured storage paths when publishing packages, enhancing flexibility and efficiency. Supported Placeholders:
    • [ProductName]
    • [Vendor]
    • [Version]
    • [Platform]
    • [Setuptype]
    • [Language]
  • Support for Windows 11 - 24H2 - In AdminStudio 2024 R2 SP1, you will be able to test compatibility of your applications against the latest Windows Operating Systems: Windows 11 24H2.
  • REST API Enhancements - The following new REST APIs have been added:
    • Getting Package Feed Details.
    • Downloading Package Feed Packages.
    • Search Applications in Package Feed Module.
