Layer2 Knowledge Management Suite makes it easy to manage tags, to tag content and to use tags for knowledge browsing, navigation, content discovery and search. It was developed using the SharePoint Server Enterprise Metadata Management API, and no legacy or other external systems are used. You may include any external data source without any restrictions using Business Data List Connectors.

Layer2 Knowledge Management Suite Features

  • Tag Suggester for SharePoint - While tagging an item or document a suggestion list is displayed. Store taxonomies, tagging rules, item properties, context and document content. Installed IFilters are used.
  • Auto Tagger for SharePoint - Tag items and documents automatically in background without any user interaction.
  • Taxonomy Manager for SharePoint - Manage Term Stores with additional managed metadata properties (e.g. tagging rules, related tags), export and import, change management and workflows.
  • Tag Navigation Web Part for SharePoint - Use SharePoint managed metadata taxonomy tree for content discovery and navigation.
  • Tag Directory Web Part for SharePoint - Render a SharePoint managed metadata taxonomy tree as a flat A-Z directory category index.
  • Tag Cloud Web Part for SharePoint - Navigate content by importance using a familiar taxonomy based tag cloud.
  • Related Content Web Part for SharePoint - Automatically display related content in a given context using managed metadata taxonomies.

Tag Suggester for SharePoint
Offers a set of appropriate content-based category or keyword suggestions, depending on term store taxonomies and managed metadata, synonyms, tag rules, item and document properties and metadata, information store context and textual document contents. By default SharePoint 2010 offers an auto-complete feature only.

Auto Tagger for SharePoint
Automatically categorize SharePoint items and documents in the background using taxonomy-based managed metadata or terms organized in the SharePoint Term Store. Tag rules, item and document properties and metadata, information store context and textual document contents are considered with the auto-classification. By default SharePoint 2010 offers a manual tagging feature only

Taxonomy Manager for SharePoint
Taxonomy-based item and document classification in SharePoint helps users find the information they need much faster, it gives context to the cloud, connect users to social networks, provides portal-wide activity feeds and enables completely new ways to access information – independent of the storage location. Taxonomy Manager for SharePoint offers a complete term life-cycle management application to create, import, improve, deploy and export corporate taxonomies.

Tag Navigation Web Part for SharePoint
Renders Managed Metadata, Taxonomies, Enterprise Keywords or Social Tags right from the Term Store as additional hierarchical, tree-style navigations using flexible templates. The tags are linked to SharePoint Tag Profiles or, alternatively, directly to the tagged content via search. The SharePoint Tag Navigation Web Part offers an additional content navigation to browse the corporate knowledge hierarchically - cross site-collection, independent of the content store's structure

Tag Directory Web Part for SharePoint
Render Managed Metadata, Taxonomies and Enterprise Keywords as a flat A-Z index or glossary. The tags are linked to SharePoint Tag Profiles or via search directly to the tagged content. The SharePoint Web part offers additional metadata navigations to browse the corporate knowledge alphabetically - cross site-collection, and independent of the content store's structure.

Related Content Web Part for SharePoint
Managed metadata in SharePoint enables editors to centrally define relationships between SharePoint items, documents and pages by tagging using enterprise taxonomies. It provides a  flexible way, to display related content using the Related Content Web Part for SharePoint.
