Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Beta released

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 Beta features full integration of Silverlight 4 development into the IDE.

On Thursday December 9, 2010, Microsoft announced the general availability of Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 Beta. The Beta release was made available to MSDN Subscribers on Tuesday December 7.

Updates in Service Pack 1 Beta

  • Improved platform support for Silverlight
    Silverlight 4 Tools for Visual Studio 2010 (with a few updates to RIA Services) is now included in the box along with Silverlight 3 support, underscoring Microsoft's commitment to that quickly-evolving platform. A number of other targeted changes have been made, including some additional Windows 7 specific MFC APIs to support use of Direct2D, DirectWrite, and Windows Animation Technologies.
