The PDF Viewer is composed of components of the PDF Xpansion SDK. It comes with several platform-oriented implementation alternatives for a document viewer. Using these implementations, you can quickly and easily integrate powerful PDF viewers into your application. You can also display your documents in your own structure and layout using these viewer implementations. The component is a window or control (depending on the development platform) that displays PDF documents.

The Viewer loads a document from any file or stream that conforms to the PDF specification (versions 1.0 – 2.0), to ISO 32000 standards (versions 1 and 2).

It displays the PDF pages and allows the end user to navigate in the document (to specific pages or to exact positions on a page), to zoom views and to fit pages, to scroll and to use various page layouts.

The PDF Viewer functionality at a glance:

• Open PDF documents and display pages in the viewer area.
• Process end user input activity (keyboard, mouse, pen, finger touch).
• Various page layouts (single and multi columns, vertical and horizontal, flip mode etc.).
• Zooming and scrolling, fit modes, page rotating.
• Navigation via links and/or pages, navigation history.
• Optional display of PDF annotations.

The standard Viewer functionality can be extended by more features for PDF annotations, and by form filling, thumbnail view, interactive end user tools, digital signatures and more (on separate request).
