I have been using Essential Tools for Windows Forms for a couple of years now (versions 6.3 to 8.3). Initially we bought Essential Tools for the Docking Manager control. However very quickly we extended our use to include at least a dozen other controls because of the additional functionality available and the professional look and feel that these controls have given our application. The controls that we use quite heavily are the docking manager, banner text provider (allow prompts to appear in text box and combo box controls), various flavours of the combo box control, the currency and percent text boxes, the gradient panel and the XPTaskBar to name but a few. I have also found that quite often the Syncfusion version of a control "fixes" problems present in the "standard" version of a control. A case in point is the Syncfusion NumericUpDown control which can be made fully read-only. Essential Tools scores very highly in a number of areas: 1. Support. No software is absolutely perfect, so in my books the key to a good product is good support and Syncfusions really is very good. There are no extra charges to pay - support is included as part of the licence subscription. Responses to posted incidents are usually within 48 hours at least. I have always found Syncfusion support personnel to be very patient and helpful in resolving issues. Syncfusion have NEVER dismissed any of the issues that I have raised as "behaviour is by design" etc. Support is taken very seriously and if there is a genuine problem with the software I have found that I will normally get a patch within a few days or at least within a few weeks. 2. Variety of controls. There are over 90 controls available within Essential Tools for Windows Forms. The controls are supported with dozens of project examples, all available in VS2005, VS2008 and VS2010 sample projects in both VB and C#. The controls are heavily documented (which includes code snippets), though it can take a while to navigate around them. If there is something that you just cannot work out how to do, Syncfusion support are happy to help. 3. Release frequency. During the period covered by our subscription we have had access to a number of enhancements and upgrades as part of our subscription. I believe that there are at least 3 or 4 main releases a year, so you never buy the product and just miss out on the next version which follows a month later. 4. Stability. Above all Syncfusions controls are stable. They don't cause program crashes and they don't cause us embarrassment in front of our customers. In summary, yes we are very happy with our Syncfusion Essential Tools subscription.

Syncfusion Essential Tools are a great addition to any project which needs advanced UI experience. I'm using them for almost 5 years now and all that time the support was excellent and more importantly upgrades (almost) never breaks my existing code which is a must feature if you plan to be up-to-date with new releases. The most versatile control in package for me is ButtonEdit.

I have been using syncfusion essential studio 7.3.0.20. Syncfusion schedule control for windows form is seemed a very sophisticated one. It has several very sophisticated features. Among them drag and drop feature is seems to be an excellent. The syncfusion technical support responded to my queries very quickly. I really appreciate it. But I have unpleasant experiences with the syncfusion schedule control too. I have listed down those experiences below 1. Even though, I rebound the datasource to the schedule control, the schedule was not updated at runtime. According to me this is an essential feature to the schedule control. I was received a patch for this issue from the syncfusion support. After applying the patch it worked fine. 2. Dragging and dropping an item within the same cell(without taking it out from the cell) gives an exception. 3. The behavior of the Drag and drop within the schedule grid and the drag and drop from scheduled grid to the navigational calendar is different. 4. Full week view shows a different week. (The patch received from syncfusion support fixed it.) 4. Every events that I registered with the schedule control has to reregister again and again, in every action done on the user interface 5. In celldrawn event it gives the dates of the schedule grid cells in different formats and totally deviated date values from the actual value. I think it will be usefull to the syncfusion development community If you could add the following features to the schedule control, 1. Item swapping 2. If it is possible to expose a property to the user to define a number as a maximum conflict which can be shown at the same time in day view will be useful. 3. To the tooltip of the appointment an additional property can be added which is not available in the isheduleAppoinment interface 4. Starting day of work week view cannot be changed, if we can change it by changing a property, it will be useful. 5.According to my experience , as the item changing event is fired after removeItem and Additem methods, If we cancel the item changing, it needs to recall additem and remove item. If the firing order can be changed then we can do the validations first and if it passes then we can change the item. 6. In the appointment which has the false value for the allowDrag property, shouldnt be movable. In schedule grid it is movable. (then it comes back to the original position) 7).If we can access the appointments related to the cell at the celldrawn event, it’s very useful. I suppose these comments would be constructive to the next releases of Syncfusion and the benefitial to the Syncfusion development community.
