Doc-To-Help has a Word COM Add-in named "Doc-To-Help for Word".
The Add-in supports Word 2010 and higher versions.
The Add-in is installed by Doc-To-Help setup and removed by Doc-To-Help uninstaller automatically.
The Add-in works in three modes for each opened document:
No features mode.
For templates, new (unsaved) documents and documents which format is not supported.
Supported formats: *.doc, *.docx, *.docm, *.rtf.
Basic mode. Provides commands that are not related to Doc-To-Help projects.
For documents that are not included into any Doc-To-Help project or when the Add-in was not able to find a proper project.
Full mode. Provides all available Add-in features.
For documents that are included into a Doc-To-Help project.
If an opened document is added to a project it automatically switches to the full mode.
If an opened document is removed from a project it automatically switches to the basic mode.
The Add-in uses the Doc-To-Help WCF service to communicate with Doc-To-Help application, so if the service is stopped or not installed, the Add-in will not switch to the full mode.

Two Policies & Procedures templates added to the Doc-To-Help template library.
These templates incorporate Revision History, Numbered Headings, and Policy and Procedure Sample Sections
Source Template Updates
New documents are created with the text defined in the project source template.
To prevent duplicate text in the built output, cover images, TOCs, index, and glossary placeholders have been removed from templates.
Preinstalled templates can now be edited to create custom templates making it easy to create documents with the same basic structure.
Changes in the Doc-To-Help Application
Options:
There is a new setting in the Doc-To-Help Options dialog: General > Prompts > "Display Progress Panel an all open Word documents during build"
This setting is checked by default. If this is checked and a user starts building a target, any open Word documents that do not have the Build Panel open will display the Progress Panel. This panel contains only the current build status message and percentage.
If the Build Panel is already open, this setting doesn't have any effect, because the Progress Panel is embedded into the Build Panel.
New Document:
New documents are now created with the text defined in the project source template.
If the source template text is empty, the default text "Chapter 1, Topic 1, Type your text here" will be inserted into the new document.
Numbered Styles Included:
New heading levels (Heading 1 Numbered - Heading 5 Numbered) have been added to the Project Styles dialog.
These styles are available in all new Word templates.
