Press Release

The new version of Add-in Express for Microsoft Office and .net focuses on Visual Studio 11 and .NET Framework 4.5. It complies with Visual Studio 11 User Interface guidelines and extends the IDE with wizards, designers and components that simplify Office solution development. Also, for all Office application-level plug-ins, you can use .NET Framework 4.5 which is the target platform for Office 15 and its extensions.

Using Visual Studio 11, developers can create any type of Office extension including COM add-ins, Excel RTD servers, XLLs and UDFs. In Visual Studio 11, the Add-in Express architecture provides all the features available in previous Visual Studio versions such as selective Office version-neutrality, effective solution templates, advanced Outlook features, scalable Excel calculations and improved solution performance. With support for Office 2000-2010, this major update is targeted for Office 15, which will be added once Office 15 Beta is published.
