ActiveReports 10 Service Pack 1 released

Enables Design-Time Collaboration.
March 22, 2016
Feature Release

ActiveReports is a reporting tool for HTML5, WPF, Windows Forms, ASP.NET and Windows Azure. It provides developers with familiar Visual Studio integrated designers and components, as well as an extensive API. Create reports ranging in functionality including form-based reports (invoices and insurance documents), transaction reports (sales and accounting) and analytical reports (sales and budget analysis and portfolio analysis).

Updates in 10 Service Pack 1

  • Report Parts - Leverage existing reports as libraries of report parts. A report part may be as simple as a TextBox report item or as complex as a Container or Tablix data region. The benefit is that all of the data and format settings come along with the report part when you drop it into your new report.
  • Shared Master Reports and Subreports - Master Reports and Subreports have been available in ActiveReports for many years. But with this service pack, report authors can host these resources on ActiveReports Server to facilitate collaboration among multiple users.
  • Shared Style Sheets - ActiveReports 10 introduced style sheets for RDL and Page reports. This service pack makes style sheets available through ActiveReports Server making it easy to keep the same look and feel across all of your reports.
  • Shared Images - Publish shared images and logos on ActiveReports Server for your developers and report authors to use.
  • Multi-Tenant Support for Categories - In multi-tenant scenarios, you could potentially see categories from other tenants in the list of available reports. This Service Pack introduces permissions for category hierarchies so you can now create a different hierarchy for each of your tenants and share other categories across many tenants.
