BardecodeFiler improves PDF Optimization

October 17, 2012
Patch Release

BardecodeFiler is an application that splits and renames TIFF documents according to the barcode values found in the images. The application reads documents from an input folder and creates new documents in an output folder. The original documents are not modified or deleted. The name of a new document created with BardecodeFiler is controlled by a template, which can include the original filename, barcode values and sequence numbers. BardecodeFiler can search for barcodes of type Codabar, Code 128, Code 2 of 5, Code 3 of 9, PDF-417, EAN-13, UPC-A, EAN-8 and UPC-E.

Updates in 1.8.1

  • Reformat - Extract parts of a barcode value or re-arrange the value of a barcode using regular expression pattern matching.
  • Custom Log - You can now create a custom log file in the output folder through the Custom Log tab in options.
  • PDF - Produce smaller PDF output files when converting from black and white TIFFs.
  • Recognition - Improved recognition of datamatrix and code 128 barcodes.

About Softek Software

Softek Software was established in 1998 to provide programming services in the field of image processing. In 2001 the company was involved in a project to process timesheets stamped with barcodes. No software in the market place provided the simple, cost effective solution required, so they developed their own barcode reading toolkit. The first commercial version of the toolkit was released later that year.
