Actipro Shell for WPF offers a set of native WPF controls designed to facilitate folder and file browsing within the Windows shell or custom folder structures. The controls provide flexible UI components including a hierarchical folder tree and a detailed list view with multiple layout modes. Built entirely with WPF, they allow extensive customization of appearance, behavior, and integration with custom shell services.

ShellTreeListBox Control

Displays a hierarchical folder structure similar to Windows Explorer's tree view, with customizable root folders, inline renaming, and themed context menus. It supports filtering, displaying files and links, and high-DPI icon scaling.

ShellListView Control

Shows contents of selected folders in multiple layout modes such as list, details, and various icon sizes. Supports sorting, single and multiple selection modes, inline renaming, and configurable columns with data-bound properties.

Shell Object Framework

Manages access to shell objects representing files, folders, and links. This framework can be customized or extended with your own shell services to support non-Windows file systems such as FTP servers.

Customizable Context Menus

Both tree and list controls include fully-themed context menus that replicate Windows Explorer behaviors, which can be auto-populated or replaced with custom menus.

Inline Renaming Feature

Users can easily rename shell objects directly within the controls by pressing F2, with support for renaming on the Windows shell.

High-DPI Support

Icons and overlay images scale gracefully with high-DPI displays, providing clear visuals across various screen resolutions and sizes.

Data Binding and Filtering

Shell objects are data-driven, allowing filtering or inclusion of custom shell objects. Selection can be data-bound directly or via string paths for seamless integration.
