About Microsoft Visual Studio Professional 2026

Professional developer tools and services for individual developers or small teams.

Visual Studio 2026 Professional with MSDN subscription delivers a full-featured, enterprise-class IDE that pairs the latest tools for .NET, C++, cloud, mobile and cross-platform development with cloud services, testing tools, support, and ongoing updates. It combines a perpetual (or subscription-renewable) license for the IDE with access to a broad catalog of Microsoft software, Azure credits, DevOps and collaboration services, training resources, and support, ensuring developers and teams stay productive, up-to-date and well-equipped for modern software projects.

Visual Studio Professional is the core component of the subscription: a robust IDE designed for building applications across Windows, web, mobile, and cloud platforms using .NET, C#, C++, and more. With the 2026 release, developers get full support for .NET 10, C# 14, and updated C++ standards, so you can leverage the latest language features and platform enhancements. The IDE supports large solutions, complex builds, cross-platform development (including mobile and cloud-native workloads), and integrates seamlessly with modern development workflows.

As well as the IDE the MSDN subscription includes a broad set of services and resources. Subscribers receive monthly dev/test credits for Microsoft Azure, access to typical dev/test software from Microsoft’s catalogue, and cloud-ready tooling including integration with Azure DevOps for project planning, CI/CD pipelines, source control and artifact management.

Training, support, and community resources are also part of the package: access to training platforms (e.g., Cloud Academy, Pluralsight, etc.), subscriber discounts, and professional support tickets to help troubleshoot and stay current.

The Professional subscription grants rights to all new versions and updates of Visual Studio as they are released, so when 2026 arrived, existing subscribers could simply sign in and upgrade without extra purchase.
