Maintain Data Integrity with Smarter Redaction

October 14, 2025
PrizmDoc v14.6 adds Personally Identifiable Information (PII) filtering to the Viewer, making it easier to detect and redact sensitive information.

PrizmDoc Viewer by Accusoft is a web-based document viewing solution that supports over 100 file types and integrates seamlessly into applications via REST APIs. It offers secure, high-quality rendering for document collaboration, allowing users to view, annotate, redact, and convert documents without client-side installations. Designed for cross-platform compatibility, it ensures consistent document access and interaction across various devices. PrizmDoc Viewer enhances enterprise content management, legal tech, and financial services, providing a reliable, customizable interface for efficient document handling.

The PrizmDoc v14.6 update introduces enhanced Personally Identifiable Information (PII) filtering in the Viewer, allowing developers to detect, highlight, and redact sensitive data with greater control and efficiency. The update enables precise filtering by PII type, color-coded highlighting for quick visual identification, and a new PII filter panel that displays the count and categories of detected entities. Developers can now improve privacy compliance by selectively redacting or reviewing PII types and assigning redaction reasons directly within the Viewer, improving both usability and data protection processes.

Copy Content Directly from Your PDF Viewer

October 13, 2025
Selecting and copying text is essential for quoting, sharing, or analyzing content and modern viewers make this fast, accurate, and clipboard-ready.

Selecting and copying text is a core feature of PDF viewer components, allowing users to highlight, extract, and paste content from documents without needing an external PDF editor. This capability is essential in workflows where text needs to be reused, such as quoting, data extraction, or forwarding snippets. A well-implemented text selection feature supports precise region selection, preserves text formatting and order (even across lines or columns), and integrates with the system clipboard reliably.

Several Angular PDF viewer controls offer the ability to select and copy text from PDF files, including:

  • Wijmo PDFViewer (part of Wijmo by MESCIUS) lets you enable PDF text selection and copying, so users can easily highlight and extract content directly from documents.
  • Kendo UI PDF for Angular (part of Kendo UI by Telerik) allows users to select and copy text from PDF documents by enabling simple viewer commands, improving accessibility.
  • Syncfusion PDF Viewer (part of Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise) offers built-in text selection capability that allows users to select and copy text to the clipboard.

Visualize Geographical Trends with Map Charts

October 9, 2025
Discover insights with color-coded geographical views using interactive map charts that reveal regional patterns and highlight key metrics.

A map chart is a data visualization tool that displays information across geographic regions, helping users uncover spatial patterns, trends, and relationships. By plotting values onto countries, states, or custom areas, it transforms complex datasets into clear, location-based insights. Features like color-coding, zooming, and drill-down navigation allow for interactive exploration and comparison across regions. Common use cases include analyzing sales performance by region, tracking market coverage, visualizing customer distribution, or monitoring demographic trends, all of which support data-driven decision-making with a strong geographic context.

Several JavaScript chart controls offer map charts including:

  • DevExtreme Chart (part of DevExtreme Complete by DevExpress) lets you visualize geographic data with interactive map charts, enabling detailed spatial insights.
  • Highcharts Core by Highsoft allows you to create dynamic map charts with drill-down capabilities, gradient coloring, and responsive designs for geographic data exploration.
  • AnyChart JS facilitates clear spatial analysis through customizable map charts featuring tooltips, projections, and region-based color differentiation for deeper insight.
  • Syncfusion JavaScript Chart (part of Syncfusion Essential Studio Enterprise) lets you build map charts with real-time data updates, heatmap overlays, and intuitive navigation.

Simplify Data Entry with Intuitive Checkboxes

October 8, 2025
Easily manage true/false values in grids with built-in checkbox cells that improve clarity through quick, accurate, and visually clear interactions.

A checkbox cell type in a grid allows users to easily manage Boolean (true or false) data through a simple and visual interface. Instead of typing values manually, users can quickly toggle a checkbox to indicate states such as active or inactive, complete or incomplete, or enabled or disabled. This interaction reduces input errors and enhances data clarity, making it easy to scan and understand information at a glance. Checkbox cells improve productivity by supporting quick edits, bulk selections, and efficient filtering based on checked or unchecked values. Common use cases include task tracking, user permissions, product availability, and feature toggles where a binary choice improves workflow efficiency and usability.

Several Vue.js grid components offers checkbox cell type support, including:

  • DevExtreme HTML5 JavaScript Data Grid (part of DevExtreme Complete) lets you add checkbox cells for quick true or false selections, enhancing clarity and data entry.
  • DataViewsJS by MESCIUS facilitates efficient data handling with checkbox cells, allowing users to toggle states instantly and visualize binary values effortlessly.
  • Handsontable by Handsoncode allows you to include checkbox cells for intuitive Boolean input, enabling fast updates and easy filtering within editable grids.
  • IntegralUI Grid (part of IntegralUI Web by Lidor Systems) enables checkbox cell integration, ensuring accurate Boolean data management and enhancing usability in interactive grids.

Turn Raw Data into Clear Insights

October 7, 2025
With sorting, grouping, and calculation features, spreadsheets transform large datasets into information that is structured, meaningful, and useful.

Data organization and analysis features form the backbone of a spreadsheet’s ability to transform raw inputs into meaningful insights. These capabilities go beyond simple data entry, providing the tools necessary to structure, manipulate, and interpret information effectively. By supporting both everyday tasks and complex analytical processes, they enable users to manage datasets of varying scale and complexity while ensuring that information remains accessible and actionable. Well-implemented organization and analysis features allow spreadsheets to serve not only as data storage tools but also as powerful environments for decision-making and reporting.

Common features include:

  • Sorting lets users arrange data in ascending or descending order to quickly identify patterns or prioritize information.
  • Data Filtering and Grouping allow specific subsets of data to be displayed or collapsed, improving clarity when working with large datasets.
  • Pivot Tables provide a dynamic way to summarize and analyze data, enabling multidimensional views without altering the original dataset.
  • Cross-Worksheet Calculations extend analytical capabilities by linking values across multiple sheets, supporting more integrated and comprehensive models.
  • Formula / Function Support offers the computational foundation of spreadsheets, with a wide range of built-in functions for mathematical, logical, and statistical operations.
  • Table Support gives structure to related rows and columns, adding features such as auto-expansion and easier formula referencing.
  • Sparklines deliver compact, cell-level charts that provide immediate visual context to numeric trends without the need for larger, standalone charts.
