Highcharts Core annual licenses offer an annual subscription and permits use of all releases and technical support for 1 year. To continue to use the software you need to renew your license each year.

Highcharts Core perpetual licenses offer current releases for a one-time fee. Highcharts Advantage (all new releases and technical support) is included for 1 to 5 years depending on the option purchased. If you do not renew Advantage then you may continue to use the software at the last release available during the active Advantage period.

Is the license permanent (perpetual) or temporal (time-limited)?

Highcharts Core licenses can be either perpetual or annual. Perpetual licenses offer current releases of the library for a one-time fee. Annual licenses offer an annual subscription and permits use of all releases and technical support for 1 year.

Can I upgrade / downgrade my license?

The Advantage subscription gives you access to new minor and major upgrades. When your Advantage subscription expires, you can purchase a renewal to extend it.

It is not possible to downgrade your license, however a license entitles you to download and use any previous version of the corresponding product for no additional fee.

What is the difference between an Annual or Perpetual license and an OEM license?

The Annual or Perpetual License allows the licensee to use the software on a web project hosted on the licensee's own server or servers where they are paying for the usage.

The OEM License allows the licensee to distribute the software to end-users' servers. Please contact us for OEM License pricing.

What type of support do I get?

All Highcharts Core licenses come with an Advantage subscription. This includes:

  • 10 hours support per developer
  • 24 hour response time (working days, CET)
  • Updates to minor / major releases
  • Emergency hot fixes
  • Advice on implementing Highcharts
  • Chat support

When the Advantage subscription period ends, you may continue to use the licensed version of the software, but will only have access to:

  • 1st line support
  • The Highcharts Forum
  • 36 hour response time (working days, CET)

What happens after my Advantage subscription period ends?

You can choose to purchase an Advantage subscription renewal, or continue to use the current version of the product with the standard support level.

Does Highcharts Core require online / offline activation?

There is no mandatory license key associated with the software, and no activation is needed. The License is solely a legal document and consists of two parts: The Terms and Conditions and the License Statement.

Can I buy an old product version?

Highsoft does not offer old versions for sale directly. However, purchasing a new license entitles you to download and use any previous version of the corresponding product for no additional fee.

Can a license be transferred from one developer to another?

The annual and perpetual licenses are not personal and apply to the number of seats, not the individual. You need a license for every developer who will be working with the software. If you have more than 5 developers please contact us for volume pricing.
