Add Location Insights to Your Reports

June 23, 2025
Maps in reports enhance visual clarity with engaging visuals that reveal geographic patterns and support more informed decision-making.

Maps in reports are visual tools that display geographic data, allowing users to see where activities, trends, or values occur across specific regions. By translating complex location-based information into clear and intuitive visuals, maps enhance understanding, highlight spatial patterns, and reveal insights that might be missed in tables or charts. This added layer of geographic context supports more informed decision-making and more compelling data storytelling. Common use cases include tracking regional sales performance, mapping customer distribution, analyzing service coverage, and presenting market expansion opportunities. Whether static or interactive, maps make reports more engaging and impactful for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Several .NET reporting controls offer maps, including:

  • Stimulsoft Reports.Web lets you integrate interactive maps into reports for visualizing geographic data with dynamic drill-down and region-specific detail.
  • FastReport .NET allows you to embed detailed maps in reports, helping users analyze spatial data and identify regional trends at a glance.
  • Telerik Reporting enables dynamic map integration to visually present geospatial insights, enhancing clarity and context for data across different geographic areas.
  • ActiveReports.NET facilitates the use of layered map visuals within reports to display location-based data and reveal meaningful geographic patterns efficiently.

Connect Reports Directly To JSON Data

June 18, 2025
Leverage JavaScript reporting components to design, view and export modern web-based reports populated with data from JSON sources.

JSON data connectivity in reporting components provides the ability to use JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) data as a primary source for building and generating reports. This feature allows developers and analysts to connect directly to structured JSON data, whether from local files or web APIs, and incorporate it into report designs without the need for complex data transformation or intermediary storage. As JSON has become a widely adopted format for data exchange in modern applications, enabling direct connectivity simplifies the reporting process and ensures that reports can easily reflect up-to-date information from diverse and distributed sources.

Several JavaScript reporting components allow you to use JSON as a data source, including:

  • DevExpress Reporting offers flexible data binding options for complex reporting scenarios in JavaScript and enables you to connect to a variety of data sources, including JSON.
  • ActiveReportsJS by MESCIUS allows you to load and visualize structured JSON data, supporting modern web applications with interactive, real-time reporting.
  • Stimulsoft Reports.JS is a reporting solution for JavaScript that supports JSON data binding and enables browser-based report design with dynamic, data-driven content.
