This review is written based on the feedback for their 2D chart component. Overall, it is a great and comprehensive charting component that's worth the money for a developer. I can do everything I wish with this compoment on my chart implementation. Documentation and sample code has been great (frankly, I kind of like C1 documentation, very comprehensive, not only for this product) to illusrate the functionality and implementation of the components. Most properties can be set at the property tab during design-time with the minimum of coding efforts (perhaps, only loading of the data). However, C1 should consider having a Lite version for this component, 2 Mb for a chart component is a bit heavy. I would suggest having a Lite version that only supports generic charts like bar, line, stacking bar and Pie. This component incorporates too many not so common charts like Hi-Lo, radar, bubble, polar and etc. Trim down the size, features and price on a Lite version and you could make it a better deal for developers who only need something simple but powerful. All in all, thumbs up for this component!!

This is not a tool for quick implementation of charting functionality. Has excellent capability but some drawbacks. Sometimes the object hierarchy seems overly complex and confusing, this is not helped by poor documentation. You can achieve almost any charting task with this control if you are prepared to write the math code to back it up. Summary: Powerful but slow to implement.

Extremely hard to use, found that Dundas Software's ASP charting is much easier and looks great!

As with all of the VSFlex and other ComponentOne controls, this baby just rocks! I spent a full day trying to get another competitor's product working and couldn't. In just over 5 hours, I had the full-featured demo up and running against my real-time data. This tool is NOT for amateurs or beginners. It requires a good deal of study to learn, but it has a great feature set. The documentation is light and could most definitely be better - more examples are needed. It does include a number of really excellent VB and other code samples you can use to get started. This is my next purchase.

You may not be up and running with it in hours due to the component's complexity, but after a few days looking at the examples you will see what a truly flexible charting control this is. I have used it many times over, and have always found new things it can do. My only bug-bare about the control is that it seems out of date. It uses the dated DAO instead of the new and more flexible ADO connection methods. I have also not yet found a way of drawing a trendline (a manual one) on the graphs. All in all a good product, hopefully they are working on a new version.
