New Licenses

SpreadJS includes 1 Year Maintenance. This provides you with unlimited technical support through ticket submission and phone, and entitles you to download any major releases that are made public within one year following your purchase.

Renewals

A Maintenance Renewal is the most cost-effective way to ensure that you have the latest features. If you do not renew your license you are entitled to use your licensed version, but will not have access to any new versions that are released.

An Upgrade License is available to owners of any old versions of SpreadJS at a significant saving over the cost of a new license. It allows the licensee to access the latest version and includes 1 Year Maintenance.

Previous Versions

If you require an earlier version of SpreadJS, you can purchase a license for a the current version, and MESCIUS (formerly GrapeCity) will be glad to provide you with the version of the product that you need. Request a previous version.

FAQs

Is the license permanent (perpetual) or temporal (time-limited)?

SpreadJS Developer Licenses are perpetual and include 1 Year Maintenance. You may continue to use the purchased developer product after your maintenance period ends. The Deployment license is typically Annual and must be renewed each year to continue to deploy SpreadJS on a production server.

What happens after my subscription period expires?

You may continue to use SpreadJS after your maintenance period ends, however you will not have access to new releases and telephone support unless you purchase a Maintenance Renewal

Can I co-term (align) my existing licenses?

Yes - ComponentSource can arrange to co-term your licenses, even if they were not originally purchased through us. Please call us or to discuss your needs.

Can I upgrade?

Upgrades are available from the previous version of SpreadJS to the current version.

Can I buy an old product version?

MESCIUS (formerly GrapeCity) does not offer previous versions for sale directly, but if you purchase a new license for SpreadJS, MESCIUS (formerly GrapeCity) will provide you with the version of the product that you need. Please contact us to request an older version.

Do I need to buy a license for my build machine?

Yes. You need a separate license for your build machines.

Do I need to purchase licenses for my customers?

Yes. A distribution license is required to deploy your SpreadJS application.

Is Source Code available?

Yes - Source Code is available for SpreadJS. Please contact us for a quote.

What type of support do I get?

All licensed users have access to the Spread Forums, which have an active customer base and input from the technical support team.

Users with urgent questions can submit a ticket through MESCIUS (formerly GrapeCity)'s online form.

Does SpreadJS use AI to generate Source Code?

No. SpreadJS was developed solely by human effort. It does not involve the use of any artificial intelligence technology in its code creation.

Does SpreadJS offer an AI feature?

Yes, using a separate add-on. SpreadJS has an optional paid AI Assistant add-on that integrates it directly with 3rd-party AI services. This optional set of features adds "smart tools" to your spreadsheets. When integrated with an AI service, SpreadJS is enhanced with:

  • Formula generation and explanation using natural language.
  • PivotTable generation based on descriptive input.
  • AI worksheet functions for text processing and translation.
Does SpreadJS see or store any data used by the AI Assistant add-on?

No. SpreadJS does not see, save, or store any data processed by the SpreadJS AI add-on. All information is sent directly to the third-party AI service you configure, and no data is ever transmitted to MESCIUS servers.
